@JeffBenjam Once I found a server that was accepting new accounts (that’s still a confusing mess) I find it much better than I thought and a lot like Twitter, which some obvious strengths (federation).

Not that I’m leaving Twitter, but I have to admit, Mastodon, once you really pull back the curtain and see it for what it is, is really cool. It definitely needs some UI TLC, but the base level idea is 👍🏽. Feels new frontier-ish.

Two things: 1. Why does this happen so often? 2. Why does it send me on a mission to find the text box? Why not just pop up a password dialog?

@alexlindsay I’ve never come across those. Obviously they exist, but there are so many great podcasts that have decent to high production values it doesn’t matter. @RelayFM, Greenlit Podcast Network, @tcm, etc.

I realized why I listen to so few podcasts - bad audio. I just won’t listen to computer mics and phones… like ever.

@rileytestut I think what crypto needs is heavy regulation (like the FDIC) into how much 1 person or entity can own, including shells. Leveling the wealth would cause extreme stability.

@rileytestut tbh I don’t think it’s a *bad* voice… just not a particularly notable one. And that might be a good thing. They’re never going to match the original Mario voice. Too iconic IMO, so just use one that’s whatever. Jack Black as Bowser was p great though!

A lot of noise from the Apple community on @dmoren’s piece on the iPad’s perpetual existential crisis. It’s worth noting accessibility is a form of productivity. You don’t have to use iPadOS for *work* to appreciate it—iPad is by far the most accessible computer Apple ever made.

Google insiders explain why Google launches many products and then abandons them. Hint: It has to do with chasing promotions. 🤦‍♂️

iPhone to iPhone transfer messed up and took a long time (hours) and I seem to have lost some iMessages during that time. That’s disconcerting. I’m doing iCloud restore now which I should have done.
