Practically anyone under the tutelage of Alain Ducasse goes on to achieve Michelin stars, and Alex Dilling is no exception. We sit down with the London-born chef to discuss his career so far, the power of caviar, and more: tinyurl.com/m5rbub52
Read our Alex Dilling restaurant review - “In truth, this meal was indescribable. You have to see it to believe it and more importantly, taste it! It is indeed, culinary art of the highest form”. Read in full at tinyurl.com/The-American-I…
@Synergie16 Hi, we don’t have such a policy, occasionally there’s a nightly limit - we welcome solo diners as Alex mentions in the interview. We would be very open to guests sharing - although they sometimes aren’t! We welcome guests dining alone every day! 🙏🏼
@QueensVictoriaS I just read at article interviewing Alex and mentions your policy of no solo dinners. How about filling a table with all solo diners? Could be a fab way for strangers to meet!

A training in hospitality arms people with a large range of transferable skills.
It's great to hear Alex Dilling from @HotelCafeRoyal talk about the trickle-down effect of people working in hospitality businesses starting their own businesses and carrying those skills with them.
@HRWright Hi Hugh, still waiting for you to take down your factually incorrect and defamatory post, the facts are on our Instagram . @Caterertweets are removing this headline / article.
@QueensVictoriaS You will not ever just have solo diners, but every solo diner that has to pay more than someone else is one too many. I'm guessing you wouldn't charge three guests at a table for four more?
@quityourjob4bob@Caterertweets Sadly some inaccurate reporting which we hope @Caterertweets update soon. We welcome solo diners in every service and continue to do so! Please see our Instagram for correct information
@Caterertweets This is not ok. I’m usually in favour of steps restaurants take to sustain themselves. Happy to pay deposits etc but I love a solo meal and this is just mean!
@knightanddog@Caterertweets It’s simply not correct - please visit our Instagram for factual information, hopefully @Caterertweets will update their story soon with correct information rather than trying to damage a hospitality start up.
@Caterertweets Hopefully, the solo diner, which I sometimes am, being charged double, will receive two meals. And decline to pay the service charge as they won’t be getting double the service. And drink tap water and not buy any drinks. There are two sides to everything.
@GaryUsher_@Caterertweets There is the option not to go yes however imagine if everyone adopted this rule ,, the rent a friend business would certainly take off ,, slippery slope this
@hmurray9@Caterertweets@UKHofficial@AcadCulArts@IoH_Online We welcome solo diners and always have - please see our Instagram for a full and factual comment. Sadly not reported by press to the damage of a hospitality start up. Due to having only 11 tables we cannot offer unlimited availability to solo diners but have some in every sitting
Dining out solo is one of life’s great pleasures, in my opinion. It’s also a great way for a restaurant to offer the best hospitality - always look after the solo diner. To charge them double seems cynical and just not very, er, hospitable.
@Drarnull@Michelin We welcome solo diners and always have, unfortunately there has been some inaccurate commentary posted. Please see our Instagram for a full and factual statement 🙏🏼
#AlexDilling restaurant’s now charging solo diners more. A solo diner has to pay for 2! This is horrible @Michelin - does such behaviour impact your star ranking? If not, should it? Can a restaurant be good if they cannot accommodate solo diners? apple.news/A__YiAu-wTIaKS…
