@kay_imw YEEESSS i worked with model all the time (engineering not sports) and a fundamental is to correct the model with test. You want to disprove your own model to improve it. Eye test and stats should not contradict each other. The model should add context and information

I said this back when people had all kinds of crazy thoughts about nick and his game bc of their Numbers but if your model is THAT far off from the eye test, I do think at some point you have to consider that your model is flawed

Samoskevich's model outlook is a pretty good representation of him. Older-age late 1st rounder, who sees some steady growth. He shows flashes of production but isn't consistent enough to sustain into 'star territory'. You see that translate into his NHL career as well.

There has only been two other occasions in the last 40 years where there was a set of high producing twin skaters both drafted. The Ferraros (1992 as +1 overagers) and the Sedins (1999). Both times, the twins went to the same team. Interesting.
