@MmeLockhartLDS @demetriosnAB 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Maybe if the provincial screener actually had the ability to identify kids at risk instead of only identifying the very very weakest they would be in a better place. And now Saskatchewan follows……
English

@burnsmk1 @ReadingShanahan Do you know of any research that would look at comparing reading screeners? I’m looking for anything that may point to whether different screeners identify significantly different amounts of students as at risk?

-Final thought, in light of DEs parting comments, he can be butthurt all he wants but its very clear from the way CBJ is playing now that he was out of touch with his locker room and was getting nowhere near enough what they are capable of. 4 pts back, keep it going

🚨 #CBJ goal: Damon Severson
Oh my. That was just a rocket. The Jackets get the puck to Dmitri Voronkov with space in the middle of the ice, he drops a pass to Severson, and he simply rips a slapper past Meriläinen.
CBJ up 2-0 1:21 into the second.

Damon Severson extended his point streak to four games with his goal earlier this period, while Cole Sillinger now has a two-assist night upon his last-minute move up the lineup. #CBJ

@MrZachG The amount of daily “free time” my son gets because he is “done” is astonishing.

Option 1: Homeschool
Option 2: Try to make teachers "differentiate"
Option 3: Wait 3 years for a GT test that may or may not put her on an accelerated track
Option 4: GTFO of here and move to a school with a true mastery-based, Direct Instruction system for true acceleration

"June, June, June. What am I going to do with you?" That's what my child's teacher told us/her at conferences. And it wasn't because she is naughty. It was because she already knows all the grade level content. I'm no longer going to accept this BS, and neither should you.

@smorrisey Is this something that is available for teachers to use?

I will take a compliment whenever I can get it. It is especially nice to get one from such an amazing teacher. Accuracy and Fluency results are amazing and the drivers of the WMP are vocabulary, morphology, and spelling. It appears to drive fluency growth as well! 1/

Recently educators on X have been sharing snippets of the Word Mapping Project by @smorrisey I tried it as an intervention.Turns out the 30 min. W/these kids might b the most effective.I don’t typically promote educators as curr. writers, but WMP is 🧵⬇️ @PatriceBain1 @D99Cicero

@Quest4Readers This is not true!
We have several UFLI students in our private practices.
You don’t know the research in the trenches.
When it comes out you will be emotionally prepared to consider it.

@RplusDyslexia It is such a struggle. How do we even ask for clarification or highlight a possible concern when everything is taken as “push back” or “causing dissension”? It’s like they think we’re arguing if we speak!
