When I started this account, all I did was post videos of me talking. It didn’t take long for that to go really well. Then I stopped doing that and it started losing steam. It’s time to get back to posting videos. Nothing complex. Just me talking to you.

@kailodee Congrats Kai. I know the internet gives insane leverage, but that is so freaking sick.

You’re one video away from making the connection that will change your life. Replying to comments with videos transforms the dynamic between your audience and your content. The audience becomes part of the content. It’s not about engagement. It’s about connection.

A cheat code for talking to anyone: Establish an inside joke early on in the conversation. I'm not saying reference an existing joke, I'm saying establish a new one that is really only designed to be referenced within that conversation. This takes skill and honestly, I'm still working on it. But if you can pepper in a couple jokes throughout a conversation, relevant to the conversation, not only does it prove your listening, but it also makes you come across as charismatic. Because you're fully invested in what that person has to say. Everyone likes it when you're truly listening to what they have to say. Bonus points if you can string all the jokes together at the end for one last zinger. When you do this right, they'll will literally not even be able to process how funny it is to them. But little did they know you were warming them up the entire conversation. This works with strangers and people you already know.

Not knowing what someone is thinking sucks. Here's how to get anyone to tell you what they are thinking in 40 seconds or less. Label how you think they are feeling. Then wait for them to respond. That’s it. One of two things happens, either they completely agree with the label… Or they don’t and they correct you. Either way they give you confirmation for how they’re feeling. **After Labeling** If there is an awkward silence that’s perfect, because if it’s awkward for you then it’s awkward for them too. Let them fill the silence with the response. Congratulations you just got them to tell you exactly how they’re feeling.

Angry customers suck. Here's how to get them to thank you for being angry too. Get angry on their behalf. Only one of you can be mad at the same situation, and if you’re the mad one then you have the control. Let them know you’ll deal with it and make it right on their behalf. If they feel like you’re in their corner, what else are they gonna do… Get pissed at you for helping them? Not gonna happen. Only one person can drive the angry bus and it needs to be you, otherwise they might drive it off a cliff.

I think you should treat everyone with respect. It makes life easier. Sometime's people won't respect someone unless they feel respected by that person first. I think that's incredibly short sighted. If you think that and the person you're interacting with thinks that then you're both waiting for the other one to show respect first. And if you're both waiting for each other to make the first move... No one will. So here's the secret: if you know that some people have a transactional attitude like that (they won't help/respect you without feeling respect first) then it's in your best interest to just respect everyone equally. If you lead with overwhelming respect, you'll cover everyone, including the people that'll treat you poorly if you "don't respect" them. If you need a semi-selfish reason to believe me: There's no strategic advantage in having other people's relationship with you be conditional. So it's best to bypass that problem entirely.

Here's a game I play when I meet new people. I try to learn as much about them as possible within 40 seconds. Easiest way to do this is to take a note of what they're wearing, how they're acting, and how they carry themselves. If you start paying attention, you'll have probably a list of 4 to 7 unique things you could make a comment about. Your tone is super important here, but the entire point is to make a comment about something that you think they might care about. When you do that person completely opens up about that thing and then they give you a bunch of conversational threads to pull on. And then you can pick any of those to continue the conversation. It's super easy with practice, and totally beats normal small talk. Bonus points if you throw a little bit of self deprecating humor, and try not to take yourself too seriously. The goal is to make them feel comfortable. Even something as simple as: (the comment) + "I wish I was as cool as you." Absolutely works. Talking to people doesn't have to be hard, but you do have to do it if you want to get better.

After achieving 100s of millions, this is my #1 lesson I can give you. Found a vid of me 14 years ago. Broke. Cringe. In my $200 a month bedroom talking about my new "SEO blog." Why I show this: It’s CRINGE af… BUT it’s why I have wealth that .01% of people do. Here’s why 👇 Imagine seeing this back then as someone who knew me in high school before I did anything. CRINGE. LOL. Look at this dork who isn’t in college at this age. When you start ANYTHING, you will be cringe. ALWAYS. To get to the good stuff, you have to go through the “icky” beginner period. To make MAX progress you have to put yourself out in the world. The world will then tell you: you are embarrassing… stop. This is because most peoples SOLE goal in life is protecting their ego and not looking like a failure to others. In short, they make their main goal avoiding being cringe. Very few people can put themselves in a position where they appear weak, pathetic, silly—yet keep moving forward. Those that can… repeatedly… and stay motivated? They take over the world. Because in order to be Tom Brady, you FIRST must get on the field and throw the ball like a 5-year-old soy girl and be judged by everyone on the sidelines. Then you analyze your throw and get better day after day, week after week, year after year… till you’re great. My point, my #1 lesson: Be cringe as fuck and put yourself out there. Let the peanut gallery laugh. There is NOTHING shameful about wanting to become something greater than you are and trying like hell in public to do so. Accept the pain of being a clown short term… to avoid being a clown (like those on the sidelines) for your entire life. <3 Be cringe. Pursue cringe.

I just turned 27 and I’ve been thinking a lot about this. I basically wasted the last 10 years Anytime I get up to the edge of anything I stop because “I can’t” It’s like a self-fulfilling doom loop. Because if I believe I can’t do something then I won’t even attempt it, which means that I can’t do it - simply because I believe I can’t do it, not because I’m incapable of it. There’s no actual evidence proving I’m incapable. It’s just my own brain saying I can’t. Based on what? The fact that most people can’t? Well, what if most people have the same problem I do where it’s just their limiting beliefs holding them back and not their actual ability? Well, if that’s the case and it’s not very helpful to compare myself to others. So I’ve been thinking a lot about killing that psychological barrier that holds me back. I don’t even know if it’s possible, but it’s definitely not helpful to keep it. Probably better just to install new software, than to try and work with one so buggy.

Obsession always comes before results. You have to care more about doing the work than you care about the result. Because the result will come as a byproduct of being ruthless about the work. So get obsessed with the work. Also realize that you don’t know what 100% looks like. It’s really tempting to stop at like 70% to 80% of the effort required. And that’s what everybody does, they stop because it’s good enough. But when’s the last time you ever admired something that was good enough? Such an insane mindset to think you could stop early like that and still get the gold. Chase that last bit of effort. Just overdo it. Nobody else will.

Most people should burn their current life to the ground so they can finally reinvent themselves in a way they’ll be proud of. It gives you a sense of of urgency and shatters all your limiting beliefs. There’s a high chance every roadblock you think is in your way is actually made up in your imagination. Reinvention is psychological suicide and it feels incredible
