When people visit temples, they stress out about having a "good darshan" and yearn to see the murthi(s) longer (and touch where allowed). In crowded temples, people get upset when they have to move and fight to stay longer. My 2 cents: Spiritual energy in a really powerful temple permeates the surroundings. Compared to standing 15 feet from the murthi in stress, one will absorb more spiritual energy if one steps out, sits and meditates (or just contemplates the Devata's qualities or chants a name/shloka/stotra/mantra), even if that's 50 feet away and separated by a wall! Of course, how much energy one can absorb depends on rinas with the sthala, Devata, kaala etc and also the impact may not be perceptible immediately. But, do try to spend some calm, devotional and meditative time in the vicinity when you visit a temple, instead of having a "good darshan" and then rushing away. Friends, remember one basic thing: Pilgrimages, pujas, sadhana etc are for calming down and stabilizing a busy, overactive and stressed mind - not to incrase it all! 😃🙏
