⭕️ Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has canceled his trip to New York for next week’s UN policing summit, ministry sources told Haaretz, after protest plans and calls from human rights groups to investigate and arrest him. The Hind Rajab Foundation and Center for Constitutional Rights had urged New York Attorney General Letitia James to open a criminal investigation into Ben-Gvir ahead of the July 7-8 visit, and an open letter with thousands of signatures demanded his prosecution for war crimes. It is his second canceled US trip in weeks: Israeli media reported last month he scrapped a visit after the US embassy required him to appear in person and provide fingerprints for a visa.

John Malone, major shareholder in Liberty Global, gave $250k to Trump’s 2017 inauguration, sat on the Cato Institute board (accused by Greenpeace of climate science denial), and has criticised CNN which his own company part-owned for “anti-Trump bias.” His company’s clean energy arm, egg Power, just bought Chirmorie wind farm near Barrhill. 20 turbines, enough for 78,000 homes. Except it won’t power local homes Amazon has signed the UK’s largest-ever onshore wind Power Purchase Agreement for the site’s full 90MW, explicitly to feed its AI and cloud infrastructure. Local benefit, per Liberty Global’s own figure: £15m spread over the wind farm’s entire lifetime. For context a single 300MW nuclear SMR announced this week costs £2.2-2.5bn. This wind farm’s community fund is a rounding error against the value being extracted. Just 1% of Scotland’s onshore wind capacity is community-owned. ‼️The rest overwhelmingly flows to multinationals, landowners, and now a Trump donor’s clean energy vehicle, selling straight to Amazon. Kris Leask MSP put it plainly: “Who owns it? Who benefits from it?
