you're blaming feige instead of the fuckass writers he fired that were pissing Mahershala Ali off lmao. Of course he wouldn't have hired those ppl if he knew outright that's what they were cooking, it's just bad luck that even the replacements were ass.
I looked at the timeline and the pre-production finalized started around 2022 and it wasnt until 2024 that they found a crew Mahershala was finally satisfied with. So that was 5+ years of making Mahershala who had final say on director/writer happy which was harder to manage than finding a new arc tier villain to replace the Kang they were forced to drop and could not viably recast lol
English

@R2XC @CultureCrave @joshuahorowitz and would you agree that it’s stupid that a solo movie focusing on one character couldn’t get made in 5 years before the announcement of an ensemble movie that wasn’t in the original line up? Because that’s what my initial tweet was about

Kevin Feige on ‘Blade’ still being in development
“[I feel like] a gigantic loser and failure that we didn’t get off the ground with Mahershala [Ali]"

@LostInAnimation @VEGALLIANCE @medeecine you don't know ball this team was on pace for 50+ wins before Christmas Day

Sir in these 7 years since the announcement, so like 5 rly since production was starting, there were more headlines than I count pertaining to creative overhaul, Mahershala being pissed with script, Feige stepping in. Add the Eternals officially being scrapped and therefore fucking what his first MCU scene (offscreen talking to Black Knight) then you're proving my point that shit was never going to be as feasible as Doom pivot with much less priority and therefore less allocable resources towards Blade
English

you're using selective context to as basis for ur complaint that falls to shit for something easily debunkable. common sense would tell you that the scales aren't remotely the same with changing course for a billion dollar production stacked with oscar/emmy/golden globe tier talent that the entire franchise hinges on vs an origin film with one major star being the cornerstone that was steadily losing patience with the mishandling of production
English

@R2XC @CultureCrave @joshuahorowitz I don’t give a flying fuck about a recast I’m referencing how fast an alternate movie was written and made compared to Blade which was announced in fucking 2019. Take that Kang argument somewhere else
English

you're cooking dawg fuck the likes. Benson and Moorhead seamlessly fixed so many loose threads in one season Echo would hardly be an issue.
they literally would be able to unpack her reaction to Kingpin again reverting to his old ways/getting exiled and give her motivation to get involved (surviving tracksuit mafia guys trying to take the open underworld throne) in like 2 episodes max. They gave Tony Dalton 3x the aura than Hawkeye did with 80% dialogue and one hallway fight scene lmao
English

@BKikiam21 @_DaredevilShots So we can’t give a redemption to Echo like they did with John Walker?

Stop using Kang saga as a talking point. Majors was damaged goods the moment the guilty verdict dropped that's PR101. You guys scream recast but can never cite an example where so many stakes were invested into a character across several media (Loki, Ant-man, with such a recognizable face they simply were able to roll out a switcheroo.
Fantastic Beasts tried swapping Depp for Mikkelsen and still got hatewatched into oblivion like let the grown-ups handle the behind the scenes shit that the general public will never be able to comprehend
English

@CultureCrave @joshuahorowitz At least he’s aware on how fucking stupid the situation is. Cancel an entire Kang saga and pull that Doom shit out his ass ready to film with a billion fucking characters but can’t make ONE movie that focus on ONE character
English

@Thickfitjen Chris Hemsworth bout to leave it all on the set shit gonna be a classic. We've never seen him take center stage dialogue for any Avenger film. Jackman in Logan performance on the way I can feel it

Real as fuck he's willing to take all the heat so candidly and all the more reason to trust he knows how to get MCU back on their throne.
"He fumbled Blade" will be the only takeaway for most ppl not knowing he did everything in his power to not lose the guy they announced fresh his Oscar run like a #1 draft pick at Comic-Con. Had a solid foundation before using Black Knight to keep Eternals continuity alive, found out Mahershala was not happy with the ass writers that wanted to make Blade a supporting figure to a random female-lead and fired them with swiftness, even tried to get Shang-Chi director who has not missed in any of his MCU releases to save this shit but by the point everyone was speaking negativity into existence.
Mahershala and Kit Harrington were gonna cook up and it's a travesty a few brainrotted terminally on reddit/buzzfeed writers + short-attention span public fked it all up
English

Kevin Feige tells @joshuahorowitz he feels like a “gigantic loser and failure” that the Blade film with Mahershala Ali never came to be
English

Fantastic Four is the only one I'll concede was surprisingly bland because it addressed so little of continuity beyond post-credits at a time where casuals needed to be brought up to speed and would've been better placed at the midpoint of phase 5 rather than preceding BND which most certainly be the final "connect everything hastily leading to Doomsday" checkpoint.
The first Captain Marvel did everything better in that regard preceding Endgame
English

fk it, I'll bite. Let's get into it. Since Wakanda forever (end of phase 4):
Ant-Man 3 - 6.8 (Majors carried, they fucked up stripping away Scott's crew that provided comedic relief)
Gotg 3 - 8.9/10 (speaks for itself Gunn been mastered the hero genre)
Captain Marvel 2 - 8.1/10 (nothing Brie Larson does will ever please everyone who shitted on her for going radical feminist first go-around and we know it. nonetheless everyone from lead to supporting understood the assignment and there was great worldbuilding/continuity connecting Secret Wars, Ms. Marvel, and Loki but again too much critical thinking involved for the casual alt-right neckbeard so wahhh DEI bad)
Deadpool & Wolverine - 9.3/10 (not much margin to fail and everyone knew it was gonna be heat. Revived Gambit with an actor who gives a fuck about keeping the genre alive in Tatum)
Captain America 4 - 8.6/10 (Anthony Mackie proved he can be a leading man; if anyone watched that film with an open-mind and not itching to scream DEI wahh from the jump and didn't arrive at that conclusion, you don't know fucking ball simple)
Thunderbolts - 9.5/10 (stacked acting cast, not much directing/script writing needed but a pleasant surprise they locked in too for MCU standards. Tackled the various manifestations of depression in ways not depcicted before in the genre and best of all showed more or less that it's not something to destroy necessarily, but to embrace and adapt to going forward)
Again it's obvious the sales/interest dropped since Endgame and hella things could've been done better in hindsight, but to act like they haven't course corrected and put out films that comfortably smoke shit from the earlier phases that everyone pretends were classics is disingenuous
English

@DiscussingFilm S/o to all the streaming releases/blockbuster filler that held it down for these 6ish months, Boss Feige said y'all can move the fk around now 🤣
English

@YukiSurvives @DiscussingFilm bruh gambit and shang chi running the 1s is peak. where tf is Strange/Carol?? Sam's squad looking the least stacked so far but obviously he has like 3 multi-versal threats on speed dial lmao
