Aphasia is loss of language, not intellect, and it's so heartbreaking to see that no one understands what this is. I do believe that a person with aphasia could serve as a US senator. And it's only been a few months, it will get better. Nobody understands.

@RAMillager @deb_f_levy thanks, Ryan! I showed this to my sister and she suggested we call it a "reader-friendly" version and I'm kind of on board!

What are the predictive factors of stuttering persistence? If there are multiple risk factors present, does this increase the odds of a child developing persistent stuttering? (1/7)

@ryan1234560 @sgharsch @SDDanielson @idran1701 Loving your (spoiler-free) enthusiasm for this grand finale. I've purchased the Coda books but probably won't read them for years yet, as I'm just beginning to get into things at the other end of the story (currently reading A Time to Harvest)... can't wait to get there one day.

@_nhrodgers I always talk about how this framework is the single most transformative idea I've ever encountered as a therapist. I hope this publication will help other therapists (and me too!) continue to better meet the needs of teens who stutter (wherever they're at). Can't wait.

1st, Simone Biles will always be the🐐. 2nd, I saw that she experienced “the twisties,” which seems to be a momentary loss of control or mental “block.” I have heard people describe the “yips” in golf as something similar. I’m curious about parallels to stuttering. Thoughts?!
Melissa Anne Marlowe OLY@MissyAMarlowe

Since we're on topic of "twisties" & mental blocks, I'm curious. What other forms of blocks are there that we all don't understand unless it happens to us directly? The first one that comes to mind for me is Writer's Block. I assume musicians & song writers too. Please describe.

@Hope_Gerlach_ I have often wondered this about the yips and stuttering! A functionally specific challenge to initiation of complex motor movements in the absence of motor or neurological deficits sounds familiar.

When I type 'stammer' or 'stammering' into my iPhone, the woozy-face emoji🥴appears. Pls cld someone at @Apple tell me if this is calculated mockery, a stab at puerile humour or the act of a disgruntled ex-employee? I'm honestly curious. @stammer
