In Ukraine, anti-corruption bodies are becoming a separate branch of power that is reshaping the political landscape – and this is a good thing.
Ukrainian corruption is a legacy of its ties with USSR and Russia, and it is strategic in nature. Politicians, including Yulia Tymoshenko, have repeatedly traded Ukraine’s interests for Russian influence, making the state weaker and more vulnerable, and serving Russian imperial ambitions.
Ukraine can become truly free and independent only by rooting out corruption. And this is already happening.

I was outside when the Russian attack started in Kyiv this morning. Drones buzzing overhead, air defense explosions. People around me ran to the nearest metro. I followed.
Russia is deliberately escalating, targeting civilians again.
