Specifically, talk to your *activated* users, who have used the product a few times. Your priorities should flow from user feedback. --------------------------------------------- However, this does *not* mean blindly building whatever users ask for. First, you need to determine if you are on the right track, at a high level. Key question: Is there a subset of users that would be very disappointed if your product didn't exist? If so, that’s the signal you need to proceed! Go interview those users who would be most disappointed, and from there, determine your product priorities. Fix bugs and ship new features for these users who really want your product. If you don't find that subset that really cares, that’s also important! Interview them about their pain points until you have a better idea for your startup, and pivot! What if you don't have any users at all? Well, go out and find them! Reaching out individually is best. In summary: - marketing is overrated unless you have no users to talk to - building is important, but also wrong if working on the wrong thing - you don't need to go to events, hire, fundraise, etc, etc, etc. Just talk to your users!
