The Plane the Army Never Talked About For over a decade, a handful of unmarked twin-prop Dash 8s sat on tarmacs from Kandahar to Bagram, repainted and quietly loaded with sensors most people walked right past. This was Saturn Arch. It flew under Task Force ODIN, Observe, Detect, Identify, Neutralize, an aerial ISR program built to go after the people behind IEDs, not just the devices. The bomb makers, the guys planting them, the ones financing it all. That sensor ball in the nose carried EO/IR cameras, full motion video, foliage-penetrating radar, SAR, and signals intelligence gear. One aircraft could hold a steady stare over a stretch of road for hours and pass what it saw straight down to units on the ground, almost as it happened. IEDs were the single deadliest threat American and coalition troops faced in Iraq and Afghanistan. The whole idea behind TF ODIN was to stop routing ISR through some distant headquarters and instead put it directly in the hands of the commanders who needed it, tied straight into strike assets like Apaches and Kiowas. None of this ran like a normal Army program. Saturn Arch actually started in 2010 under the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, not a typical military chain of command, and spent years classified as a “Quick Reaction Capability”, a designation that let it skip most of the usual acquisition process and public disclosure. A lot of the aircraft weren’t even government-owned. Dynamic Aviation held the airframes, and SAIC, later Leidos, supplied the crews, civilian pilots, sensor operators, and analysts, not soldiers in uniform. No public roster. No press conference. The UK and Australia were quietly involved too. By 2022, the Army confirmed Saturn Arch had flown its last missions for CENTCOM. There wasn’t much of an announcement. One of the related aircraft just disappeared from the public boneyard inventory with no explanation given. The mission has since moved toward a new generation of jet-based ISR under the Army’s HADES program, built for a very different kind of fight. #TaskForceODIN #SaturnArch #ISR #AviationHistory

Llegan tarde porque muchos jugadores NO TENÍAN VISA porque después del ataque de @DanielNoboaOk a la embajada mexicana, se rompieron relaciones y se impuso la visa a ecuatorianos y pues sucedió el escenario de Iran, pero al revés. Ahora fue MX que impidió viajar a los ecuatorianos porque no tenían visa. TOING

Al panita lo regalaron, ya sabían hora y fecha de llegada, no son cualquier sicaros, son niños que tuvieron algo de entrenamiento. Usaron la ventaja de ser niños y pasar depapercibidos y encima portando peluche pareciendo esperar algún familiar. .... #Aeropuerto

🚨 #IBERIA | El winglet izquierdo del Airbus A350-900 "Pau Gasol", dañado durante el arco de agua del 4 de junio en el Aeropuerto José Joaquín de Olmedo (GYE), ya fue retirado por el personal de mantenimiento de Iberia. Se espera que el componente de reemplazo arribe al país en las próximas horas para su instalación. La aeronave permanece en tierra a la espera del nuevo winglet y de la verificación final antes de volver a operar.
