She only spoke about an association. The lozenges scenario is like taking pain killers for knee pain when it could be “autoimmune”

Don’t go and be buying lozenges for strep throat o. Sore throat to kidney failure is a very real horror story. See a doctor.

I just saw an Rx in bio, so please make time to read about post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis. To top-up, streptococcus infection is also a recognized cause of interstitial nephritis.

It is very funny that you think a patient must walk into a hospital to see a pharmacist as the first point of contact for counseling regarding prescribed medications. If they do, fine. If they come to a chemist first, also fine. And I can say this with my friend's full chest: in many cases,chemists are doing the same things as pharmacists. So, what exactly is so outrageous about a chemist being the first point of contact for that same service?

@rundriveng Bro, there's no careless anyhow attitude here. If the person that made that prescription is a qualified pharmacist then we're sure he did his assessment before prescribing. If your first thought is a hospital for a sore throat that's fine but that's not the reality here.

These are serious issues. When you hear about strange or sudden deaths from what began as a “simple sore throat, toothache ,” it’s often because of the careless “anyhow” attitude we’ve become used to. We assume every sore throat, tooth ache is minor without doing a proper assessment. May we never get used to negligence!
