“Two weeks ago my husband started complaining that our baby's nose smelled bad. I thought it was just cough and catarrh, so we bought some drugs, but the smell didn't stop. Last Friday it got worse—the nose smelled often. My husband checked and saw a bit of catarrh inside, but when I looked, it didn't look like catarrh—it looked like something else. We took the baby to the hospital. The doctor said there was something inside his nose. They gave him an injection to sleep, and when he fell asleep, the doctor used a tool to pull out a very big piece of nylon from his nose (you can see the photo—so big!). I still don't know how he put it in there without anyone seeing. The doctor said if they hadn't removed it right then, they'd have had to cut his nose to get it out. I've been in shock since last Friday and haven't posted about it. I'm just so grateful—help me thank God, because I don't know what I'd do if anything had happened. Grateful to God”🙏🏽🙏🏽

I shared a desk with a woman named Kemi for 11 months in 2016. Same desk. Different shifts. I came in at 8am and left at 5pm. She came in at 3pm and left at midnight. We never worked the same hours once. But we shared the same drawer, the same cracked monitor, the same chipped mug she left behind one evening with a Post-it that said don't use this one. I used it every single day. We started leaving notes. Not intentional at first. I'd leave a note about a file she needed. She'd reply at the bottom of the same paper. Then the notes got longer. She had small tight handwriting that slanted left. I have big sprawling letters that take up too much space. The page always looked like an argument between 2 different personalities that somehow agreed on everything. I'd come in every morning and go straight to the desk. Not to start work. To look for the note. Before emails. Before anything. She wrote about everything. A bus conductor who sang instead of shouting at passengers. Her neighbor's goat that escaped twice in one week. Her father back in Ondo who called every Sunday and spent 20 minutes complaining about the same politician he had been complaining about since 2009. She wrote the way some people talk. Like she trusted you completely before she could explain why. I wrote back. About my commute. The woman on my street who had been building the same house for 9 years. My mother's laugh. Small things. The kind of things you tell someone when you've stopped being careful with them without noticing. Month 5 I came in and she had left jollof rice in a small cooler next to the monitor. Post-it on top. You said yesterday was rough. Eat before you start. I hadn't left a note about that. I had said it quietly to myself at the desk and apparently said it out loud without knowing. She heard it through 3pm the next day and still made the rice. I ate it at my desk that morning and felt something I couldn't name. Like being looked after by someone who wasn't even in the building. Month 11 the company restructured. Her shift moved to a different floor. It happened fast the way things happen in Lagos. One week she was there. Next week a stranger sat across from me who put nothing on the desk and left no notes and made the whole space feel like a waiting room nobody wanted to be in. I should have gotten her number but I didn't. 4 years passed and I stopped expecting to find the note. Last November a friend dropped a link in our work group chat. Small food blog. Brand new. First post was about jollof rice. Not a recipe. A feeling. About how her mother made it every Saturday morning in Ondo and how the smell of it is still the fastest way she knows to travel home without moving. I read it standing in my kitchen at 10pm. Then I read the second post. About a bus conductor she once saw singing instead of shouting on a Lagos bus. About how everyone on board went soft without realizing it. I knew before I scrolled to the name at the bottom. I DM'd the blog at 11pm. She replied at 11:08. Said she recognized my name immediately. Said she still had one of the notes I left. The one where I wrote about my mother's laugh. Said she kept it because it was the most honest thing anyone had put in front of her in years and she didn't know what to do with it so she just held onto it. I held my phone for a long time without responding. We had lunch that Saturday. Buka in Yaba. She walked in looking exactly like someone who would leave jollof rice next to a work monitor with a Post-it and no further explanation. 3 hours. We talked for 3 hours. Before she left she said she used to come in at 3pm and go straight to the desk before she did anything else. Just to read what I'd left. I told her I did the same thing every morning. Neither of us said anything for a moment. She smiled and said she knew. We're having lunch again this Saturday. I'm bringing the chipped mug.

@echidiimemotors At a time, it was Peugeot. Later the Japanese came in. Almost every Peugeot, Benz and some European brands mechanics diverted by learning Japanese engineering. And that's how Toyota and the likes took over the market. It's gonna happen again. And price is gonna drive that

If the Federal Government of Nigeria bans accidental (salvage) vehicles, non-accident (clean title) vehicles will naturally become more expensive. Here’s the logic in simple terms: 1. Reduced Supply; A large percentage of imported cars into Nigeria are accidented vehicles because they’re cheaper to buy abroad. If those are banned, the total number of cars entering the market drops sharply 👉🏽fewer cars available. 2. Higher Demand for Clean Cars; Buyers who previously settled for accidented cars will now have no choice but to compete for clean vehicles. More buyers chasing fewer cars - price increase. 3. Higher Import Cost, which the FG increased; Clean vehicles are: 🪶More expensive to purchase abroad 🪶More expensive to ship and clear Dealers will pass those extra costs to buyers👉🏽higher market prices. 4. Less “Budget Options” in the Market Accidental cars act as entry level options for many Nigerians. Remove them, and: 🪶The “affordable segment” disappears 🪶The average price of cars shifts upward 5. Dealer Pricing Power; With fewer alternatives available, dealers gain more control over pricing, especially for popular models like: 🪶Toyota Camry 🪶Mercedes-Benz 🪶Hyundai sonata 🪶Honda Accord 🪶Lexus Es/Rx 6. Possible Smuggling / Black Market; Bans often create scarcity/loopholes, which can lead to: 🪶Illegal imports, just like foreign rice etc! 🪶Even higher prices due to risk premiums Bottom Line: A ban on accidental vehicles would reduce supply, increase demand pressure, and raise costs, which together push non-accident vehicle prices higher. ~Scty.

@echidiimemotors Why would it be more expensive when you guys package both accidental and accidental and sell it as clean foreign use

@echidiimemotors They will have no choice. I have envisaged these situations a long time. Every brand came in and dominated one way or the other. This time, price will determine the dominant. It will spiral into every sector. Retail, availability of part and technical know how.

I'm not brothers much about the FG ban on accidental cars. My main concern is how spare parts prices will skyrocket. Accidental cars are the main raw materials for spare parts.

Nigerians can afford clean vehicles. Once preference shifts, the high price will die a natural death. Some brands will automatically become symbols of status cause of their high price. Why will I buy a highlander of #10 when I can get a CX-9 for #6, Pilot for #8?

The new car importation policy will only affect a few brands. There will only be a shift in preference. We will witness the high inflow of other brands.

I have driven both. I can confidently tell you, I will pick a Mazda CX-9 above a Toyota Highlander. In terms of fuel efficiency. Highlander might be more efficient. But on the highway, Mazda takes the lead. In terms of balance and drivability. Highlander has more space
LOVEDAY autos@iam_eson

Many people won’t believe that the Mazda CX-9 and Toyota Highlander belong to the same class. Well, let’s do a comparison between the 2010 Toyota Highlander vs 2010 Mazda CX-9 and see who's winning 😊 Body Design The 2010 Toyota Highlander comes with a clean, conservative, and family-friendly design. It has a smooth body shape, modest grille, and a refined look that appeals to those who prefer simplicity and durability over aggression. The 2010 Mazda CX-9, on the other hand, carries a more sporty and aggressive design. With its bold front grille, sharp headlights, and flowing body lines, it looks more like a performance SUV than a typical family vehicle. Interior The 2010 Toyota Highlander offers a spacious and practical interior. It focuses on comfort, with soft-touch materials, user-friendly controls, and enough room for up to 7 passengers. It’s built for convenience and long-distance comfort. The 2010 Mazda CX-9 interior feels more premium and driver-focused. It features a stylish dashboard layout, quality materials, and a sportier cabin feel. While also spacious, it leans more toward luxury and design appeal. Engine & Performance The 2010 Toyota Highlander offers two engine options: a 2.7L 4-cylinder engine producing 187 horsepower and a 3.5L V6 engine generating 270 horsepower. The 3.5L V6 is popular for its power, while the 2.7L provides improved fuel efficiency. The 2010 Mazda CX-9 features a 3.7-liter V6 engine (3,726 cc) across all trim levels. This engine produces a maximum of 273 horsepower at 6,250 rpm and 270 lb-ft of torque at 4,250 rpm. It is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, with options for front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Towing Capacity The 2010 Toyota Highlander, especially with the V6 engine, offers a solid towing capacity of up to 5,000 lbs, making it a reliable option for light trailers and family trips. The 2010 Mazda CX-9 also delivers an impressive towing capacity of up to 3,500 lbs, which is decent but slightly lower than the Highlander. Fuel Efficiency The 2010 Toyota Highlander has better fuel efficiency, especially with the 4-cylinder engine. It is more economical for daily driving and long-term use. The 2010 Mazda CX-9, due to its larger engine and sporty tuning, consumes more fuel. It prioritizes performance over fuel economy. Both SUVs bring something unique to the table. The 2010 Toyota Highlander stands out for its reliability, fuel efficiency, and practicality—perfect for families who want peace of mind. The 2010 Mazda CX-9 shines with its sporty design, powerful engine, and premium feel—ideal for drivers who want style and performance in an SUV. At the end of the day, you’re not making a wrong choice with either of them… it all depends on your lifestyle and what you truly value in a car.

@ndpcngr (Nigeria Data Protection Commission) has officially received my data breach complaint against @CDcareNG . Status is OPEN. This is now a formal government investigation. CDcare has still not responded publicly or privately.

@CDcareNG Just because you have my address does not give you the right to show up at my house unannounced or involve my landlord, the cleaner and my neighbour. This is unprofessional, invasive, and completely unacceptable. I’ve been a consistent customer of CDcare since 2023 and over 20 purchases and I have never defaulted, and this experience is honestly disappointing. In December 2025, I got a laptop on a 3-month installment plan. Final payment was February 27 2026. On March 13 I had a conversation with two cdcare agents, I offered to pay with interest month end OR let them collect the laptop till whenever I have the balance. They never responded to either offer. CHECK IMAGE 1. I was not unreachable. I have WhatsApp messages from TWO different CDcare numbers contacting me. I responded to both. I was actively communicating the entire time. My call log shows I answered CDcare's calls on March 14, March 18, and March 21. March 27 they messaged me. I said "allow the salary to drop, I nor like to owe, because sometimes salaries get delayed. They said "Ok." ONE day later, literally the next day without any formal demand by email or calls or text (which their OWN Terms Clause 10(vii) requires), they sent someone to my house. CHECK SLIDE 3. Their agent came, didn't text or call me prior, and went straight to my LANDLORD and disclosed my debt situation. My landlord was shocked. I now have to explain to the person who controls my housing why a debt collection agent showed up at his property because of me. But here's where it gets worse. When I called my landlord, he told me CDcare's agent said they had called me several times with no answer, and texted me with no response. THAT IS A LIE. My screenshots prove we were in active communication the entire time. Not only does my landlord know, my neighbour knows and the cleaner who doesn't even live there knows my business. They didn't just show up unannounced. They fabricated a story to my landlord to make me look like I was hiding from them. That is deliberate defamation. To the person who controls my home. Over a payment I was actively communicating about. Their OWN Terms Clause 10(vii) require email or phone demand before any physical visit. Their Privacy Policy says data can only be shared with affiliates or under court order. My landlord is neither. They violated their own policies AND lied to cover it up. This is 3+ years with CDcare, multiple products failed within 6 months. Multiple Earbuds, a fan, a yam pounder, an influencer light. I never showed up at their office to cause a scene. I just moved on. Because I'm a reasonable customer. I am filing a formal complaint with @fccpcnigeria under the FCCPA 2018 and @NITDANigeria under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation 2019. I'm not against CDcare as a business, I mean get your money. But showing up without notice, disclosing my data and lying to my landlord about me to justify an unauthorized visit has put my housing at risk was uncalled for.
