Rapid City Regional Airport

Around 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, emergency units responded to Rapid City Regional Airport for an incident involving a single-engine aircraft. All individuals on board safely exited the aircraft, no injuries were reported. No fire was associated with the unplanned landing.

Today, tumbleweeds were moving fast enough to start asking about gate assignments. RAP recorded a 94 mph gust, breaking the previous all-time record of 89 mph set in July 2002. Several flights were delayed this morning. Please check with your airline for the latest info.

Rapid City Regional Airport remains fully operational with power, despite the widespread outage. Please use caution when traveling to the airport, as some highway traffic signals may not be functioning.

Parking update: P2 is currently full (closest to the terminal). Spaces remain in the P1 lot.
