The WVSSAC is sad to share the news of the passing of Gary Ray, a longtime educator, coach and former Executive Director of the WVSSAC. Ray joined the WVSSAC in 2001 as Assistant Executive Director and later served as Executive Director from 2007 to 2016. Over more than four decades in education and athletics, he served students and schools across West Virginia in a variety of roles, including teacher, coach, athletic director and principal. The WVSSAC extends its sincere condolences to the Ray family, his friends and all those whose lives he touched.
