Drs Yaarthi & Ritish Lutchmun were former students of mine in the first batch of @UniOfMauritius -@ImperialSPH MPH program 10yrs ago. Yaarthi has since taken on important roles incl. Med Unit Dir @ Ministry of Social Security, #Mauritius Med Council Chairperson & #WHO officer.

Great to meet one of the doctors working in a Medi-Clinic in #Mauritius. She will see approx. 40 patients in a session (approx. 3 hrs). That's about 4.5 mins per patient. What should be a safe level of patient contacts per day? #globalprimarycare #GeneralPractice #TeamGP #First5s

Esha & I talked abt the state of women’s health in #Mauritius, incl. having an organised national cervical/breast CA screening programme & improving access to a wide range of HRT & contraception. #GeneralPractice trainees & #First5s can hear Esha's story in an upcoming webinar.

I met with Dr Esha Gopee-Beharee, an Australian-trained #familymedicine doctor with a special interest in women's health. She recently returned to #Mauritius to set-up a much-needed clinic. Family med is a new concept here & has yet to be incorporated into its health system.

I embarked on a 1.5h bus trip to meet a #familymedicine doctor in Ebene, just south of the capital, Port Louis. The bus is a great way to experience the country, interact with people & hopefully learn some lessons from encounters. #globalprimarycare #GeneralPractice #RCGP
