Basotho traditionally relied on the moon's position to mark the seasonal rotation. The New Year's start is symbolized by the beginning of Spring (Selemo) with the appearance of the Waxing Crescent moon, commonly seen from mid to end July. This year, it appeared on July 19th. 🧵

In Lesotho we build our own houses, we build our own toilets we have our own land even though the church have bigger land stolen… but still everything we need is available… yet we are named poor! But people who live in shacks, people who protest for government to build them houses and toilets are named to be rich, people who live in land that belongs to white peoples are said to be rich.. Isn’t this like brainwashing? Making you never to realize your potential? 😒😒😒
