Texas solar output record jumps about 50% in one year. New record is up 6 GW! Again, skyrocketing, rapid growth. Solar in Texas can supply 40% or more of its electricity in some hours. Better still, much more is being built.

Electricity reliability scaremongers never discuss growth in US generation. Below shows net generation capacity additions (includes retirements) from 2000-2022. Including retirements, US utility-scale generation capacity rose from ~750GW to ~1200GW! statista.com/statistics/184….

100% correct! Anyone urging the closure of a nuclear plant in the USA and on most grids is supporting burning more coal or gas. Most coal and gas plants operate at less than 60% capacity factors. When the nuke stops generating, they ramp up immediately!

A warning to Toyota fans patiently waiting for EVs to arrive. If you’re waiting for Toyota’s solid state batteries, a choice of 30 compelling EVs they keep promising in 2 years, or a hydrogen filling station network for their hydrogen combustion cars (two words that shouldn’t sit next to each other comfortably in a sentence), look elsewhere because chances are, they can’t be bothered to deliver what the public want. Instead they’ll buy EV credits. Toyota are renowned for their hybrids that are reliant on liquid fuels, but they’re not willing to adapt. This is Toyota’s Kodak moment.
