@Kirsten_Tanis1 IF they somehow play Seattle week 1 (looking more and more doubtful) it would be huge since that is the only game west of IL they play all year. Playing it on a Wednesday w/10 days till the next game would be as good as you could ask for.

Bears have 9 home games at Soldier Field and no international travel. That is great news. In each of the last 3 seasons, Bears only played 8 games at Soldier Field.

@rogcastbaseball Understood but the problem is, this is his hottest stretch and even over that pace would yield an 18 homer, 84 RBI season. Both well below last year. As a team they seem to have just stopped hitting HR's. Very strange.

Via the Tigers PR notes: Riley Greene is now batting .385 (35-for-91) with nine doubles, four homers, 14 RBI, a .486 on-base percentage, a .615 slugging percentage and a 1.102 OPS in his last 27 games over the past month starting April 11 ... he leads the majors in on-base percentage and ranks second in the majors in OPS and batting average during in this span.

So many good/great players either in partial slumps or season long. It's been a cray first 1/4 of the season.

@Kirsten_Tanis1 Head to head with the Pirates may well determine both teams fates. Pirates rotation is insane and the great equalizer since they now also have a decent offense. IF Pittsburgh gets in they are going to be a handful for anybody to deal with.

Cubs have played the 6th toughest strength of schedule thus far. For the remaining 122 games, the strength of schedule is easiest (.509) compared to the rest of the NL Central

@SkubalsChangeup Problem is he has only 20 RBI partly because he has only 4 HR to date, also KM & Gleybar were on base machines but Gleybar is out &Riley for some reason is hitting 5, too far from KM (who has also slowed some).

I know it’s like 95% certain the Bears will play the season opener vs. Seahawks (even Schefter is saying it) Yet there is part of me that knows how much Roger LOVES eyeballs And while the Bears became must see TV, I wonder if he won’t be tempted to do a Super Bowl rematch given all the off-season noise around the Patriots Even more may tune in to see just how distracted the Vrabel scandal has impacted that NE team Day 1 & if their adjustments (especially on offense) helped them to be more competitive with the Seahawks. I expect NE to have a tougher time this season as they had one of the easiest schedules since the late 70s a season ago. Regression will be a big storyline. Still think it will be the Bears, but I do wonder if this has a long shot chance to disrupt the widely speculated Seahawks/Bears matchup

The Bears started the season 0-2 last year. With both losses in the division and still won the division.
