@DudyNobleField @CFB_Pat Almost like playing Queens x4 and Oakland x4 wasn’t the best move… tough scheduling luck. They also got USCe and Mizzou at home 😬 no doubt they’re a good team though. I remember we lost to Marist to open szn and by year-end that lone loss cost us 9 RPI spots.

@CFB_Pat It's just because the RPI doesn't just weigh the current game. It factors in every opponent you've played, their opponents and so forth to calculate the SOS. UGA doesn't have to worry about RPI though, they're an anomaly and the committee will treat them as one.

RPI went down after beating top 5 Auburn. This is why I keep laughing at the RPI nerds.

Opponents winning % is a direct part of a team’s RPI.. carries thru entire year. Nebraska only gained 3 spots since Sunday, and it’s because the mid-teen RPI spots are really close together on points. Nebraska also beat Creighton on the road midweek while Georgia didn’t play a game. Nebraska, with a win tonight, gains 16 points. Georgia, with a win tonight, gains 30 points. Almost double…

So explain how the games played LAST NIGHT didn’t affect the RPI more? They beat a top 5 team on the road. Nebraska beat a nobody at home.

10-win Oakland (293) x4… 15-win Queens (258) x4… Losing to Wright State (128) Midweek against Ga State (144) Midweek against 12-win Presbyterian (266) Missouri and South Carolina both at home. Those games alone are a third of UGA’s schedule. A lot of that UGA can’t control, but their non-con schedule was miserable (238) and is the sole culprit for their RPI lagging. The metric is working as intended, but with the fact that UGA won their conf pretty handily, they’re a no-brainer national host.

Nobody is saying RPI is perfect but my god Georgia’s RPI is where it is because they scheduled THIRTY TWO Q3/Q4 games?? That’s over half their schedule! Why is this some shock their metrics suck? Why does that mean we have to scrap a metric that, more times than not, has been fairly accurate in assessing teams?
