There is no 'war on Christmas', and there are also no actual Muslims who want to prevent pet owners from walking their dogs, or pubs from serving alcohol. If you repeat misinformation like this you're either gullible or racist.

Here we go again 🎄 A reflection on the annual myth that #Muslims want to “ban #Christmas,” the respect #Islam has for #Jesus and #Mary and the real issues people face over the festive season. hifsaharooniqbal.com

Nearly 2 out of 3 people say they (or someone they care for) have had a problem with NHS admin in the past year. But what impact do these experiences have on the public's perceptions of the NHS? We explored this in our February long read: kingsfund.org.uk/insight-and-an…

@scholastic_rat Absolutely! It pisses me off so much when academics blame 'administrators' for everything that is wrong with the sector. And there are a lot of real problems, but they're not caused by the mostly female, lower paid administrators.

As a third-space professional in the middle, I can believe it. Professional services colleagues’ work at all levels is skilled, expert and vital. They Know Stuff, and they’re brilliant. And we don’t see the half of what they do, because they do it so well.

I was involved in the very early design stages of this course, before I quit genomic education to train as a rabbi. There are really good people on board, and it's a great complement to other variant interpretation courses by virtue of being global and diverse. Recommended!

@learnfromassess @JonHaidt And really tiny kids, preschool age, who can use voice-based search before they can read or write, and who get a huge boost to literacy and numeracy from the immediate feedback you can get from electronic games. The problem isn't phones, it isn't "screens", it's advertising.

@learnfromassess @JonHaidt Observing the under 7s in my immediate circles who use smartphones, the main impact is a huge boost to self-efficacy. I've seen a 5yo who could confidently navigate his local streets using map software. A 6yo who taught herself new art and baking techniques based on videos.

I love this course, it's one of my favourite things I worked on in my previous job. It covers an astonishing amount of ground for an online course, including lots of really detailed case studies. Can't recommend it enough.

@professor_dave It is mindblowing how effective the scratch cards are at promoting deep engagement and discussion. I've tried all kinds of digital alternatives and there's just nothing like them.

Teaching my favourite workshop of the year - a scratchcard-based team quiz where students have to work in teams to answer the questions. They really discuss the topic deeply to try and ensure they scratch off the correct panel and score maximum points.
