@RGabs37 @ABeducator Dave would know that intent to blow the whistle is the important thing. If McCauley were asked, I assume he would say he intended to blow the whistle when the puck was under Dobes's pad, which makes everything after irrelevant.

People can keep calling it a quick whistle all they want. If they didn't blow it and your team got scored on, you'd be screaming about how it was poked from under him when he had possession in the crease. It's the correct call.

Then again puck is frozen before the Sabres player pokes at the pads. If the ref loses sight of the puck he’s supposed to whistle which is what happened here. Pretty clear cut.
