Beijing breaks protocol and reprimands Abu Dhabi: 🔴 During Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed’s visit to Beijing, the UAE reportedly attempted to entice China with closer economic ties in exchange for a clear request: 🔴 to cut relations with Iran and dismantle the Sino-Iranian partnership. But the response was decisive, with a reprimand to Abu Dhabi: “We decide our own allies…” 🔴 “Friendship with the UAE has limits, and does not include interference in our relations with Iran.”

⚡ 🇨🇳🇺🇸 | The Chinese Defence Minister warns the United States: “Any American provocations against Chinese vessels in the Strait of Hormuz will be considered a red line crossing, and we will respond with the harshest possible military options. China will not allow its ships’ security or the safety of its navigation to be threatened, and full responsibility for any escalation lies with Washington.”

The longer the Iran war goes on, the more China suffers. Everyone would like the war to end quickly. But the negative impact on China can't be ignored.

@novieverest China will never agree to that NEVER, instead they will supply the Iranians with even more advanced weapons to disrupts any US intervention in the strait, remember weakening the US reducing their stockpiles is also in the best interest of the Chinese.

🇨🇳🇺🇸🇮🇷 China's Iran diplomacy has nothing to do with peace and everything to do with a May summit with Trump Beijing made 26 phone calls to position itself as a mediator. It co-authored a peace plan with Pakistan. It nudged Iran to accept the ceasefire at the last minute. Trump gave China public credit. Mission accomplished. But the WSJ lays out what's really happening. Xi wants the May 14-15 summit in Beijing to deliver tariff relief, looser tech export controls, and a shift in U.S. policy on Taiwan. Every diplomatic favor China does now is a deposit toward that meeting. The timing of everything China is doing this week puts things into context. Wang Yi flew to Pyongyang, signaling Beijing is still indi spensable on North Korea. Taiwan's opposition leader arrived in China for a "peace mission" at Xi's personal invitation, the first in a decade. And the Iran ceasefire gives Xi the credibility to walk into the summit as a responsible global stabilizer. Iran asked China to be a guarantor of the ceasefire. Beijing refused. It wants the credit without the commitment. Theatrical diplomacy from a country that blocked the only UN resolution that could have actually reopened Hormuz. Source: WSJ

🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷🇵🇰 BREAKING: U.S. delegation appears to have arrived in Islamabad. WSJ reported Iran's team led by Araghchi and Ghalibaf arrived earlier tonight. But Iranian outlets Mehr and Fars denied anyone went. One side is in the room. The other side may or may not be. Saturday's talks hang on whether Iran actually shows up... Pakistan’s successful negotiations of a ceasefire shows not only it has trust of the US and Iran but it has also the trust of China. Modi wanted to isolate Pakistan internationally, instead he has isolated India.
