After nearly two weeks of overwhelming uncertainty, today it happened. I was fired from my dream of working at NOAA. I'm so sorry to everyone also affected.
My job was to strengthen NOAA's use of machine learning and AI for subseasonal-to-decadal weather and climate prediction

Finally got round to counting all the plastic sunglasses/glasses (and fragments thereof) that we've picked up over the last few years. These are all from one beach. They don't float and have washed up from the seabed with the kelp after storms. How many do you reckon?

The next full Moon 🌕is the so-called Sturgeon Moon, the eighth full Moon of 2024, which will be visible on 19 August from 8.45pm. What's more, tomorrows full Moon will be a seasonal blue Moon and a so-called supermoon, making it a 'true blue supermoon'. 📷Credit Nick Bull
