A young mother is appealing to President John Dramani Mahama and the Health Minister for urgent intervention after her son allegedly lost his ability to walk, speak, and see following a surgical procedure at Koforidua Central Hospital. According to the mother, her son was just 1 year and 8 months old when he underwent surgery to remove a hernia at the hospital. She claims that after the operation, the child became unable to walk or speak and also lost his sight.

🇬🇭 A young man has accused a police officer identified as Abdul Salem (or Salam) of assaulting him during a stop-and-search operation on the Aburi–Madina route on June 1, 2026. According to the victim, he was asked to step out of a taxi for a search and began recording the process on his phone after expressing concerns about his belongings. He alleges that the officer became angry, slapped him, handcuffed him, and forced him to sit by the roadside. The victim further claims that after another suspect escaped from the scene, the officer blamed him, returned smelling of alcohol, and assaulted him for several hours, including allegedly striking him with a firearm. He says his family later intervened and that although videos were deleted from his phone, he had already saved a copy of the recording by forwarding it to himself on WhatsApp.
