RIDOH is issuing a statewide overdose spike alert across RI. These alerts are issued when there are more non-fatal drug overdoses than usual in a week. The RIDOH Overdose Spike Alert System (OSAS) detected 55 reports of individuals receiving care at emergency departments for suspected drug overdoses. In 2026, Rhode Island averaged 41 non-fatal overdoses per week.
