I spoke to @theipaper recently about the battle I’ve faced the past two years covering the spiralling costs of James’ care. Since the interview our local authority has offered a new care package that will take the pressure off - but still doesn’t reflect James’ 24/7 needs.

I got evicted from a flat where the mortgage had long since been paid off simply because my landlord wanted to increase my rent by £400 to match the rents of neighbouring properties. They tried to smoke me out by ignoring repairs and maintenance that fell outside my ability.

My last rent increase was because the landlord noticed that the market rate for the area had gone up Not because his costs went up, but because other landlords were charging more in my area and my landlord felt left out and thought I should pay him more for the same thing

About 5 years ago Tesco halved the amount of egg in their egg custards and made the pastry twice as thick. Nobody bought them and this was quickly reversed. All the time these bloated greedy fuckers are seeing what crap they can get away with 😡
