This right here is the ultimate problem with Cody Rhodes. They keep pushing this narrative that he’s our hero, a humble everyman, just a regular guy like you that you’re supposed to support. Seriously? Just like me? Man, I can take more losses on a single bad day than Cody has in two years - he is nothing like me. He’s the chosen one. The guy basically never loses, and on the rare occasion he does drop a match, it’s only because he got screwed over, there was outside interference, or F'N aliens came down to Earth and immobilized him with a galactic plasma laser. A hero? Hell no, he’s a corporate golden boy. I cannot relate to that. And the second I try to, when he actually shows signs of being a human being, they just hand him the belt right back. Any idiot who understands basic dramaturgy knows that a babyface character makes zero sense if they just constantly win. It’s total nonsense - you lose the entire point of the character.
