Russia obviously bears blame for invading Ukraine, and the Ukrainian cause is a justifiable one for the Ukrainian people, but let's not pretend that war exists in a magical vacuum. There was a long build-up, a situation the US created.
I don't care if Iran has nukes, Pakistan has nukes which is infinitely worse. But that's not why this war is happening and you know it.

You're getting sucked too much into the headlines around Trump theatrics.
The US just wiped out the Iranian govt. One of the world's most important trade choke points can't be transited right now. There is no scenario where we just "make a deal" and leave. US military will be securing this area for quite a long time. Deal or no deal.
With that in mind, the only "deal" that will be made is one where whoever we are talking to agrees to do what we say.

Oh ya I don't think we are planning a ground invasion at all.
We are aiming to take the small islands in Hormuz to secure them and likely return to UAE long term. Possibly take Kharg bc if we own Kharg we own the purse of the govt and can control who is in charge to a large extent. Then there may be some actual mainland operation to take the uranium.
All are risky. If we can get the uranium we probably just want to leave if Hormuz normalizes. The problem is that the country is likely headed to civil war and chaos for a time so Hormuz will need to be secured either way for the long term.

I get it mark trust me Iran is the worst of the worst but sometimes in life you gotta cut your losses and move on. A ground invasion of Iran is many dead Americans, this is a formidable enemy. They have a lot of willing martyrs and we’re on their turf. Look at the chaos in markets
