Today at #HRC51, res. L.24/Rev.1 on RMI's nuclear legacy was adopted by consensus. 64 years after the last nuclear test, RMI will receive UN assistance in upholding the rights of the Marshallese people that still bear the scars of this dark chapter of our past. #Nuclearlegacy

4/29 marks the 40th Anniversary of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. The UNCLOS has been instrumental in shaping the oceans of the Pacific Nations. Alongside its Pacific family, the RMI will continue to implement the UNCLOS to ensure sustainable management of our Ocean.

The RMI welcomes the adoption of Resolution ES-11/L.4. "It is upon [the UN] to ensure that actions have consequences. The commitments in Resolution 60/251 apply to all P5 and indeed to every UN member state, particularly Council members", stated Amb. Kabua at the UNGA.

3/25, representatives from Albania, Colombia, Denmark, Marshall Islands, the Netherlands and Ukraine came together to launch a Group of Friends in New York, consisting of UN Member States committed to ensuring accountability following the aggression against Ukraine.

3/23 - During the UN emergency meeting to address the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, Ambassador Amatlain Kabua expressed RMI's strong support for Ukraine and the dire need to address the humanitarian crisis caused by the Russian Federation.

At #CSW66 Min. Jemi Nashion shared RMI's continued efforts to address climate change and gender equality, including incorporating gender equality and human rights in its NDCs and mainstreaming gender across sectors and RMI's Climate Change agenda.

At Taiwan's side event, Min. Kitlang Kabua emphasized the value of cooperation - "to address and adapt to climate change impacts and push for gender advancements, we have to engage with partners, such as Taiwan, for mutual support and knowledge exchange."
