The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Just as astrophysicists pursue the quest to go deeper into the discovery of cosmic wonders, young adults should continually seek to deepen their conversion to Jesus Christ, leading to lifelong discipleship. This was the message of Elder Gary E. Stevenson  and his wife, Lesa, during a worldwide devotional on May 3, 2026. “Beginning with [Christ], through a living prophet, the First Presidency, and the Quorum of the Twelve — along with dedicated file leaders, family, and loved ones — you are not alone,” Elder @StevensonGaryE said. Sister Stevenson said, “If we ever feel our conversion is complete, let’s invite ourselves to be amazed that we can always deepen our conversion and faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement.” Learn more on Church Newsroom. newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/elder-…

“As we humbly accept [the Lord’s] will and timing in our lives, we will receive heavenly direction, protection and spiritual strength,” said Elder David A. Bednar (@BednarDavidA) at BYU Women’s Conference on Friday, May 1. “We can be blessed to ‘arise and shine.’” “Acknowledging we absolutely can never ‘rise up’ without the power and blessings of the Savior’s Atonement matters,” said the member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. “Consistency in learning, doing, and loving small and simple spiritual things matters — all the time and everywhere.” Learn more on Church Newsroom. newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/elder-…

The University of Utah bestowed an honorary doctorate on Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on Thursday, April 30, 2026. Elder @RonaldARasband attended the University of Utah in the 1970s but left before completing his degree after Jon Huntsman Sr. offered him a senior marketing position at his company. Reflecting on his path, Elder Rasband admitted he has occasionally joked about being a “college dropout,” but noted that a small part of his heart always felt that side of his life was “deficient.” “This is very humbling,” he said. “For the University of Utah to offer me an honorary doctorate means so much because I had to leave when I was within sight of getting my degree.” Learn more on Church Newsroom. newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/elder-…

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has provided an updated exterior rendering of the Buenos Aires City Center Argentina Temple. In a recent general conference, President Dallin H. Oaks taught about the purpose of worshiping in sacred houses of the Lord. “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is constructing temples all over the world. Their purpose is to bless the covenant children of God with temple worship and with the sacred responsibilities and powers and unique blessings of being bound to Christ they receive by covenant,” @OaksDallinH said. This American folk hymn has long served as a testament to finding light within darkness. While its specific authorship is obscured by time, the piece became a staple of early American sacred music.   The title and central theme are rooted in the conviction that God remains present even in our most desolate moments. The lyrics ask, "O why should I wander an alien from Thee, or cry in the desert Thy face I must see?" We find in these words a vulnerable plea for connection and a recognition that the "night" of the soul is often where faith is most deeply refined. In our present day, this melody reminds us that even when our surroundings feel uncertain or dark, there is a persistent, quiet song of hope that remains accessible to us.   "The Lord will command his loving kindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me." —Psalm 42:8
