@Author_PCorrell I'd agree, and add that it doesn't really take a lot of hard thinking to get Shakespeare, he's pretty damn direct most of the time, although in the most eloquent way possible.

My pretentious opinion is that Shakespeare is neither inaccessible nor alienating, you just don't want to read anything that makes you think hard.

@JagsArthurson No, of course you're not the only one. I assume that was a rhetorical flourish. What I find disheartening is that most of the discussion in Baku is about how much money will be paid by rich countries to poor ones in order to "incentivize" them into action.

Amazing how hundreds of world leaders are flying in private jets to Baku so they can discuss ways of cutting greenhouse gas emissions Have they not heard of Zoom? Am I the only one left breathless by the irony?

@Author_PCorrell It depends a lot on what exactly they used it for. If they're letting AI do the writing, then no, I wouldn't bite. If, on the other hand, they're using AI to do research, I think that's OK. Just like Google or Wikipedia, only better and faster.

Acquaintance from my old writing group asked me to look at something new they wrote. I have done it before & enjoyed their work. But this...is something written with the help of ChatGPT. Do I suck it up or tell them I don't believe in using AI creatively & refuse?

@1pcornwell Depends. If I could help because of stuff I know, and if I could be genuinely useful, then yes. I'm a social anthropologist and a writer of adventure thrillers, I know a lot about some things and very little about others. I like your stuff, by the way.

@Nickyshearsby22 Scenes, and then I see where the chapter breaks fall naturally. Something has to happen in every scene which moves the story forward.

Do you break your writing into scenes, or stick with chapter breaks?
