I remember back in 2007 when I was around 23. I went to a real estate meeting in Shreveport that they held every 3rd Thursday of the month at this Mexican restaurant called El Compadre before it got demolished in 2025 for parking space. That was my 1st time actually sitting at the table with millionaires. Mind you I was working at Wal-Mart around this time. I had 100 dollars in my account. The meeting lasted for about 2 hours. And I was getting into Real Estate as a Bird Dog. Someone who finds deals for others who are too busy and I basically get a cut around 4% which is the highest I think one should go in that field before you price yourself out of profits. One thing that surprised me the most is that none of those people were driving fancy cars. None of them were wearing expensive jewelry. Maybe because most of them were in their 50s & 60s and been around the block. I walked out of there with about 12 business cards I didn't even ask for. I didn't even give out my business card because I wasn't planning on starting anything at that time due to other issues I had to deal with. What impressed me the most is that I was the only Black American in there and these people were engaging with me as if I was already closing million dollar deals. And I was working GM-(General Merchandise) overnight at Wal-Mart. This exchange of minds, money, and opportunity blew my mind at how easy it was to actually get involved in something I was intimidated by simply because I was only 3 months in of study of how this market actually works. And here These seasoned veterans are pitching me all types of ideas and the conversations were effortless. I wanted to say this because many of you are nervous about your upcoming foreign currency exchanges. One thing I think played a part in how everything went that evening for me is that I walked in there like I belonged at that table. I was not showing any signs of nervousness. I didn't shy away from questions. I pointed out things I was clueless about. I didn't stutter. I presented my case as to why I was there. And I told them I wanted to enter that particular field since it didn't require me being a millionaire to make money. And they respected my position however amateurish it was I was allowed the floor for a brief moment. Keep in mind I didn't have any money. I was inexperienced. This is why I tell you all to get the leg work out of the way and start going to these banking institutions and tell them why you are there. You can not continue to keep looking at yourself as this wet puppy who doesn't know how to hunt. The jungle doesn't care. This is your Man & Bear moment. You know how you make yourself look big and threatening even though you are in danger to ward off beast that assume you are a risk because you are not running and are standing your ground? This is how you approach the business world. Do not flinch. Do not buckle. And people will notice your poise & posture and realize you are serious about your time and money even though you may not have any worth considering. And for the record all of that info on my old business card is non-functional. So please understand that only you can move you in the right spaces to take advantage of something where your destiny resides. No fear. No mercy. No weakness.
