What’s hilarious about this whole fiasco is that Disney specifically bought Star Wars because they lacked a brand that appealed to boys. They had tons of merch sales to girls but had almost nothing for boys.
So they bought it for billions and the creative dept feminized it defeating the entire purpose of buying it to begin with.

Disney is about to delete five years of canon because Rey doesn't move toys. The sequel trilogy did $4.47B at the box office. Force Awakens $2.07B, Last Jedi $1.33B, Rise of Skywalker $1.07B. The merchandise tells a different story. Star Wars merchandise peaked at $700M in 2015 when Force Awakens launched. By 2019, the year Rise of Skywalker shipped with a billion-dollar marketing push as the supposed finale of the Skywalker Saga, Hasbro's Star Wars line was doing roughly $150M. A 70%+ collapse during the trilogy's own theatrical run. Then 2020 happened. No new movies. A streaming show legally unavailable in most international markets. Hasbro's Star Wars revenue grew 70% year-over-year. One character named Grogu outsold three years of sequel-trilogy merchandise. The sequel cast specifically can't move inventory at any price point. Rey, Finn, Poe, Rose, Holdo: Walmart clearance for years. Diamond Select's president said sales on TFA and TLJ products "were not too strong." Hasbro silently stopped producing Rise of Skywalker figures mid-line. There is no mass-market action figure for Poe, Finn, Lando, unmasked Kylo, Palpatine, or Leia from that movie. The licensees gave up before the trilogy finished releasing. The Lucasfilm acquisition was a $4.05B bet on the merchandise flywheel that built modern Hollywood toy licensing. Kenner's best year selling Original Trilogy toys, adjusted for inflation, outperformed the entire Disney era combined. That's the asset Disney bought. Galaxy's Edge runs the same play. Over $1B per park to build a Star Wars land set on a sequel-era planet nobody cared about. Both parks underperformed projections. The Mandalorian-themed expansion now under construction is the admission. If the rumor lands, this is the most expensive retcon in entertainment history. Five years of IP development written off because the licensees voted with their order books. Luke, Han, Leia, Vader, Boba, Mando, Grogu, Ahsoka generate revenue. The sequel cast generates returns.

Got lunch today and noticed the guy next to me had a logo on his phone from a company I applied for a job with. I politely introduced myself and it turns out it was the CEO. He gave me his personal email. I literally just got done yelling at my dad that it doesn’t work like this.

American was driving a brand new 2026 car
The car gave her an alert that said it couldn’t see her eyes. The car then automatically disabled the gas and slowed down enough that it could have caused an accident
She had to lean toward so the car’s facial recognition could register her eyes and stop the “kill switch” because the car thought she might be asleep
“It was a 6 lane highway and all of a sudden the gas stopped working and I'm pressing on the gas. I can't get the car to go. So the car is dinging, it's making all this noise and I can't figure out what's going on. And I look at the dashboard and in English it says, sit up straight. We can't find your eyes.
Why? Why do you need to see my eyes? — when I sat upright, the gas would work once again. And so I pressed the gas, but I was slowing down enough that it was gonna cause a traffic hazard.
And the thing is, it knew I wasn't asleep because I was pressing on the gas. So it knew I was awake. It just wanted to see my eyes. So once I set upright and leaned forward, I guess it did facial recognition. And then it says, may I send you these results to a third party”
This is horrifying considering the new mandate to have kill switches in every new vehicle by 2027. It looks like it’s already happening but overseas, we’re just next

Is there any real evidence that forcing users to change their passwords every ___ months actually improves security?
It seems more likely they won't remember their password, writing it down places they shouldn't or triggering less-secure password resets

🚨 HEARTWARMING STORY OF THE DAY
Southwest pilot Chris Jackson and his retired Spirit Airlines dad, John Jackson, turned a heartbreaking moment into something special.
Spirit shut down right before John’s final retirement flight. No last flight, no big sendoff… until Southwest stepped up BIG TIME.
Chris: “I whispered one thing to the captain… and the whole crew ran with it. Passengers, family, everyone came together.”
They gave John the full treatment, water cannon salute, champagne, and a hero’s goodbye on his son’s airline.
John: “It was overwhelming. A bright spot on a sad day. Southwest treated me like family. I’m proud my son flies for them.”
Chris added: “Spirit has amazing people with a great culture. This was two of the best in aviation coming together for my dad.”
From dad teaching his son to fly… to the next generation honoring him. This is what America and real aviation families are all about.
Class act by Southwest!

first principles:
this cutaway isn't the idea but invokes the idea of the sort of the module i had in mind that could modularly PRE-LOAD (passengers + luggage) at the Gate and then slide + lock into the plane...
while the arriving plane just slides out (like Star Tours at Disney) and UNLOADS on both sides instead of single aisle.

An IDEA If we could design from scratch: 1 Take the time we spend in boarding/waiting area as an ASSET 2 Turn that area into modular platform with actual plane seats + luggage overheads 3 Load people & seats 360' 4 Hydraulically swap platforms of departing arriving plane 5 😌🧘♂️
