There's just over one week left to soak up the excitement of Sharks, closing March 22! @DrNathanLujan brings us up close to the smallest specimen of the biggest shark in the ocean, the whale shark & the 2nd smallest: the pygmy shark! Both held in the palm of his hand! ✋

The Helicoprion puzzled scientists for years, who couldn't figure out where to place its spiral-shaped jaw loaded with teeth. 🌀 @DrNathanLujan (Curator of Fishes) sheds some light on this mysterious, extinct shark. Learn more at Sharks, on now through March 22.

To achieve this kaleidoscopic effect, Simone reversed one of the 6 glass elements in an analogue lens. This distorted the image at the edges while leaving the centre sharply focused. Wildlife Photographer of the Year is on now until March 29, 2026. 📸: Caught in the Headlights
