We congratulate our three winners and all participants in the Innovation Challenge for the dedication, effort, and innovative ideas you demonstrated throughout the competition not forgetting @YOURS_YforRS for the technical and financial support availed to us. 🚶 Pedestrians • Use safer and marked walkways • Avoid walking through flooded roads or fast-moving water. • If the water level on a road appears too high, do not attempt to cross. • Be visible. Wear bright or reflective clothing so drivers can easily see you.

Africa has the highest road traffic fatality rate in the world, and in Uganda road crashes cost about UGX 7.4 trillion each year through medical bills, lost productivity, and property damage. During the project insight presentation, the Executive Director of URRENO and chairman of @ROSACUg mentioned this while in Moyo district today highlighting the background of the road safety sensitisation and awareness campaign along the Koboko, Yumbe, and Moyo road corridor. He further appreciated stakeholders in Moyo for their joint efforts, noting that by 2024 the district had recorded fewer crashes and fatalities compared to Koboko District and Yumbe District, and urged continued collaboration to further reduce preventable deaths. #roads #RoadSafety
