@USofARando No, that was Boots Court in Carthage. Debbie Dee, the longtime manager of Boots is the one who sadly passed away.

@ROUTEMagazine66 If I recall correctly from an article in one of the past issues of ROUTE, she was one of two ladies who used to sit in chairs on summer nights outside the motel…? And the other lady also passed away not too long ago…? RIP 🙏

We are very saddened to share that longtime proprietor of the iconic Wagon Wheel Motel in Cuba, MO, has passed away. Connie was a force to be reckoned with and a lovely lady. She will be sadly missed in Cuba and along Route 66. RIP Connie. Image credit: David Schwartz
