Five Big Ten teams in the sweet sixteen.

@PooreJonathon @DylanEveryday There were plenty of candidates with experience but the decided to promote the ast coach from the current team that they deemed was a failure who had zero experience.
English

@DylanEveryday So you wanted us to stay with Matta? Since according to you age/experience is the only factor in coaching.
English

@coachrd12001 @DylanEveryday How was that the same? One got to 32 ft in 2.5 seconds. The other got to 43 ft in 4.5 seconds. Same starting point out of bounds.
English

@DylanEveryday Dude it was basically same luck shot just only one went in! Off the backboard luck shot… but blame the coach lol dumb take
English

@reeceisgoat @luke3342 @OhioTate A football fans opinion is irrelevant so I assume, you’re not a football fan or your basketball opinion is irrelevant.
English

@RRCSLC @luke3342 @OhioTate I’ve watched more basketball than I have football, I was simply a football player/wasn’t light on my feet. Didn’t miss an OSU game all year, not even the IU Indy or Grambling State type games. The people who get butt hurt by me saying this are the “fans” I’m talking about
English

@reeceisgoat @marcushartman @TranslationSta5 Times were different 30-40 years ago. He should’ve never gotten the job in the first place and finishing 8th in B1G with a 1st round exit in year 2 isn’t the expectations for this program as “solid work”
English

@RRCSLC @marcushartman @TranslationSta5 It took Izzo 3 years to make a tournament, and Coach K 4 years to make a tournament. Why are we expecting more from Diebler than hall of fame coaches?

Titus goes OFF on Ohio State fans “Ohio State Basketball fans are the worst fans in the world… they watch football all year they don’t even pay attention to the basketball program, they parachute in around late January early February” - @clubtrillion
ART

@bfalb7 @JjJamesCocks @DougLesmerises Doug is not a fan. He covers the team for the fans but doesn’t root for outcomes like a lot of the beat.
English

@marcushartman @TranslationSta5 He’s got them from not good to average/mediocre so I guess that is an improvement and you hope he can get them better next year. With the team they should have, they should be better but that doesn’t mean it was the correct hire and nothing so far has shown that it has been.
English

@RRCSLC @TranslationSta5 Absolutely fair to say he wasn’t qualified but I think he’s done enough to get one more year. Point is investment in program is somewhat reflective of support even when they had very good teams
English

@DougLesmerises He’s talking about you lmfao, you start watching in February and think you know everything about the program you’re literally proving his point with this
English

@hausen13 @iron_brutus @TranslationSta5 Every pod you listen to this morning will talk about this past season and what’s to come. Maybe you just move on at the buzzer but most people don’t and they aren’t wrong. Fans that want to be everything is fine and fans that want to air their grievances can both exist.
English

@RRCSLC @iron_brutus @TranslationSta5 Yes the past as in analyzing a singular basketball game that just happened is one thing. Continuing to harp on facts we all know to be true is another. Live in the present. Live in reality. You’ll be a better fan that way
English

@TranslationSta5 @hausen13 @iron_brutus Getting bounced in the first round and that being called momentum is a sad state of the program. You thinking it’s a good thing makes me question you on what a good program is.
English

@hausen13 @iron_brutus @TranslationSta5 It’s not even been 24 hours. I assume you don’t listen to any postgame coverage or pods because it’s the past they talking about. What a weird way to be a fan.
English

@RRCSLC @iron_brutus @TranslationSta5 Yeah kind of.
You still complaining about play calling in the cotton bowl too? Even though we went & tried to fix the situation w a new OC?
Like yeah, complain about what? You’re sad we lost yesterday & frustrated w the lack of success the last 10 years? Me too lmao now what?
English

@hausen13 @iron_brutus @TranslationSta5 So your opinion is for fans not to have an opinion on their team after the season because that season is over with and just move on.
English

@RRCSLC @iron_brutus @TranslationSta5 That’s fine. It is sad. I agree. But from where this program has been it IS momentum. So like what do you want right now? Wouldn’t common sense tell you that we got here this year, now the expectations can realistically be raised? Who tf cares that it’s been bad? Past is the past
English

@hausen13 @TranslationSta5 @iron_brutus So your take is because he has the role, you as a fan can’t complain?
English

@RRCSLC @TranslationSta5 @iron_brutus IT DOESNT MATTER ANYMORE. HE GOT THE JOB. HES KEEPING THE JOB. He’s now been an OSU HC for 2 years, so by definition he’s qualified now lmao. Like what does that mean? Who cares? Obviously May would have been a much better hire for the last 2 years but like we didn’t do that lol
English

@hausen13 @iron_brutus @TranslationSta5 Pretty sad state of the program that making the tournament is “momentum.”
English

@iron_brutus @RRCSLC @TranslationSta5 Yes doofus. When you haven’t made the tournament since 2022 that’s momentum.
English

@hausen13 @TranslationSta5 @iron_brutus The local beat writers (not Doug and Bill) and fans like you are the only people that believe he is qualified for the job. The program is not where they should be and that’s because they elevated an assistant coach from a failing staff. That’s the complaint.
English

@RRCSLC @TranslationSta5 @iron_brutus Yes that’s a good opinion honestly. Right this second there isn’t much to complain about. Everyone wants competitive basketball, for the first time since 22 we did that. Now the expectations ratchet up, this is what we should want. Complain now? For what?
English
