Political posturing of the Uni-party Landed on my desk today was a letter from MPs Melanie Onn and Martin Vickers urging me to get involved with other local leaders to support Prax and fund a skills package for workers should it close. No sooner, had I received this, it was covered by the local media. I was given no time to reply to their letter, and nor was I asked for a right of reply by the media outlet. I certainly had no opportunity to work together as their letter clearly stated before they rushed off to the local media. I have been working in the background with workers daily since the warning of a potential closure three weeks ago So, Ms Onn and Mr Vickers, I will publicise my initial thoughts on here, in the same manner that you have published yours. Dear Melanie and Martin, I must extend my heartfelt gratitude for your joint letter asking me to show interest in Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery. I must admit, I was a tad surprised by the tone of your correspondence. It seems that while I have been diligently working behind the scenes daily to support our workers, you two have been busy drafting letters to me and then sending them straight to the media. Well done. And regarding your suggestion for me to invest in training for the workers should the refinery close. Thank you for that brilliant idea. It is wonderful to see you both tapping into your creative sides. I mean, it takes a certain flair to suggest something I have already publicly declared many times. So, of course, I intend to support the workers further. I understand as MPs you clearly want to appear as if you are doing something constructive. Well, I would respectfully suggest the following; Ms. Onn, I would recommend that you actually hold your own party to account and reach out to Mr. Ed Miliband. It may be beneficial to request that he consider purchasing more oil, thereby extending the deadline for finding a buyer beyond the current three-week timeframe. This could open up more options for the refinery and its workers. And maybe you and Mr Milliband should also self reflect that your net zero obsession is putting a stranglehold on these industries. Though this could be difficult for you given your previous employer was Renewables UK. Thank you again to you both for taking the time to write to me. And please rest assured I will continue to fight for the Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery workers. And of course, I would relish the opportunity to work with two such esteemed politicians as yourselves. For those attacking @JakeBerry, I have known him as a friend for many years. He doesn't want to be an MP again. He defected because he believes in @reformparty_uk, in Nigel and knows that only he can save Britain. He has joined now as he wants to support in the background and help build so Reform can form the next government. He made one comment on Net Zero when he was a Northern Powerhouse minister. He has since fought against and fought for a no deal Brexit.

All across the country, people cannot get a dental appointment. Last week I signed off our bid for £1.5 million to establish the Lincolnshire Institute of Dental and Oral Health (LIDOH) at the University of Lincoln. Here in our county we will be training dental professionals to tackle the severe shortage and increase patient access to NHS dental care. The next task is to ensure we retain the talent and ensure these people work in the county they were trained, here in Lincolnshire. I am pleased to announce that the funding was granted and awarded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, will enable the University to launch new education programmes that will enable local people to train and qualify for careers in dental hygiene and therapy without having to leave the region.
