So here's why life expectancy is an incredibly misleading statistic.
The reason it was so low wasn't due to clogged arteries.
It was because 1 in 2 children didn't make it into adulthood.
That's not a dietary issue.
It's just life before modern medicine and hygiene.
In the meantime, paleolithic people who made it past the ritual of childhood easily lived into their 70s.

People in rural areas are not watching PBS. Growing up in Northern Michigan, we had to go out in the yard and turn the antenna to get one of three channels to come in and PBS was not one of them.
Country people are not going to die in a tornado without PBS and they’re definitely not going to miss Elmo and Big Bird.
