NEW: Dodgers fan blows off part of his hand with a firework while celebrating the Dodgers' World Series win over the Yankees. The 25-year-old male was in downtown LA when the incident occurred. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the fan was conscious but "suffered bilateral hand wounds" which were "debilitating." The incident was just one of many crimes reported in Los Angeles after the win where hundreds of people reportedly ransacked a Nike store and lit a bus on fire.

@colin_dunlap The problem I see with the property tax system, specifically in Pittsburgh, but in so many cities, is that the assessed values are significantly less than true value. I see properties selling for $200k - $300k that have appraisal values closer to $50k. Nuts.

This is how much my family pays in Allegheny Co property tax. So, under proposal, you want what, another $1,200/yr? For what? You can get the hell out of here. I don’t mind incremental increase. But what concession is County making and what new business are you bringing here?

This is how we create pillow makers in the USA and make ours cheaper than the Chinese option. We have too many Chinese goods here, too many low quality items that are "throw always." Items that are made in America were made to last because a company cared about the American branding. This is how you bring back jobs to America too.

If your pillow was made in China and the American government slaps a tariff on Chinese-made pillows, the tariff is added to the cost of the pillow at the point of sale in Walmart. The country of origin doesn't pay the tariff. The pillow buyer does. That's how tariffs work.
