Both my daughters are studying in universities: one in law at one of the NLUs and the other in political science at Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi. Every semester I have to beg friends, lawyers, judges, and civil servants for their internships. Some reply, while others ignore and stop picking up calls. Kids think we are not doing enough and don’t understand the limits and embarrassment faced by middle-class parents. 😊

@RSIEdge If they are in NLUs, LSR aren't the kids or and colleges doing enough to get internships automatically ? NIT, 20/30 yrs ago we could get internships locally quite easily.would assume NLU to auto give deserving students

@RSIEdge Start ups hire, pay and respect interns as much as full time employees.. if you know IIT startup founders or their TA department, the experience will he a good one for the kids. They hire from campus as well.

@RSIEdge Funny how being in these colleges your kids cant secure an internship on their own. In final yr (2020) o college went L&Ts Bahadurgarh- TSD to enquire for an internship. The floor manager interviewed, took me to Area Manager & began the same day. Was offered 6lpa a year after.

Every year, securing an internship was a painstaking task, even as an NLU student. And yeah, the university/college had nothing to offer as help.
