@refsupportuk I don’t think he is blaming the ref. He’s questioning, rightly so, why Michael Oliver failed to issue ANY card on field for dangerous play.
Did Oliver miss it? Or was he relying on VAR to make the correct decision?

This is great evidence that some people will do their best to blame refs for terrible behaviour and actions by players. The decision was a red card after a VAR review. 🤷♂️

Metal studs connecting with Mateta’s temple with that level of force could have killed him. That is not hyperbole. It was a plausible outcome. By far the most dangerous challenge I have seen on a football pitch in my lifetime (many decades). And Michael Oliver issued a caution.
