It's this here for me- when the group has been asked to come together again, but the kiddo, who rarely engages in anything, just can't stop working on the task!! #RVSed#BTC@carbocaro@pgliljedahl
@d_martin05@carbocaro@pgliljedahl It was "the answers are" task on page 168/169 in the book! Also a fun fact- we used that same task with gr 1-5 kids that day!
I love this clip from my reflective conversation with Ms. Medd! Thanks for articulating the benefits that come from #BTC. I can't wait to see how your classroom will continue to evolve!

I LOVED the reflective conversation I have with RVS Teacher Ms. Armstrong today. She shared the journey shes been on BTC this year. Here is a short clip from our chat! youtube.com/watch?v=HATSBr…#RVSed#BTC@pgliljedahl
We had a great fourth and final session for our RVSBTC cohort! In this activity, each VRG of 3 wrote a question or thought that was still circulating on a VNP. We then rotated, spending 3 minutes at each board, to troubleshoot as a group! #rvsed#BTC@pgliljedahl
We had a great day today with our Thinking Classrooms cohort. Session 2 had teachers reflect on the first 3 chapters of Thinking Classrooms and then we did some learning on chapters 4-8. Here are this group's reflections on how they will move this work forward! #rvsed
Session 1 for Rocky View Teachers "Building Thinking Classrooms" cohort! These post-it's are ways that teachers are creating opportunities for thinking to happen within the first 5 minutes of class!

Three ways to re-purpose #homework as a safe space to make mistakes:
✅ Call it a "check for understanding" instead.
✅ Give students the answer in advance.
✅ Don't mark it.

Here is another FREE resource we learned about last week at the Shaping the Future conference! @EverActiveABdairyfarmersofcanada.ca/en/teachnutrit…
There are several activities included in these free resources!
Today's task in Math 9. Students were put into groups of 3 and sent to the boards.
It is important to offer our students opportunities to make their own mathematical decisions. Some incredibly rich thinking emerged as a result.
I love how engaged and excited they all get. It never gets old. The “hints” were asking the students to write down one thing they thought would help another group. It helped their group and everyone else. It was awesome. #thinkingclassrooms@pgliljedahl@RVSWhitneyG@rvsed
Is “almost 30” less accurate than “almost 300”?
Like… 27 is almost 30, but 271 (which, relatively speaking is closer to 300 than 27 is to 30) doesn’t feel like it’s almost 300
