Is Angel Hernandez a bad ump? Yes, but always find the obsession with how bad he is overshadows how bad all MLB umps really are. He's just the most egregious of a bad bunch.

@ccslaysu I wouldn't say all that. Is he overrated? Yes. Good player with obvious flaws. The biggest one being no killer instinct. He's just so dry. Everyone blames others, principally Angela, for his being boring, but that doesn't hold up for me.

@RValentine10 Defensively though we only have York, Sanheim and Andrade who are all LHDs Will likely move Provy for good return So Briere will need to make some big moves on RHD. But if he makes the right ones the team could be in good shape pretty quick. Already have 2 1sts next year

@RValentine10 Look at the top9 in 1 year (assuming we dont trade TK): TK, Gauthier, Tippett, Farabee, top pick this yr like Leonard, Frost, Foerster, Cates, Brink and then have Couts who if healthy could be really good. Thats kinda a decent. Just Frost, Couts or top pick this yr 2 be a 2C

@AlexDiNata99077 I question if Cutter is a C though. He got moved back to wing at BC & plays wing for USA in tourneys. We just disagree on Frost for now. I still have questions. Cates is fine as a 3C. Couts is just not reliable to project right now. I don't think the best C's make it to 7.

@RValentine10 If we take a center w/ our top pick this year the center group will be in good shape. If we dont we still have Gauthier, Frost who played at 2C since December, Cates who is good middle 6 C and Couts So would need Frost or Couts to be long term top 6C behind Gauthier. Possible.

@AlexDiNata99077 D is bad because of organizational philosophy. They value hits & blocks over puck movement. It's why they stupidly chose Provorov over Werenski for example. Then have to trade big assets for puck movers. Problem at C is you still have no proven guys there which is very risky.

@RValentine10 I do agree on defense. Its in horrendous shape thanks to Fletcher. Spending tons of money and assets of Risto, DeAngelo, Ellis and Sanheim ... Center will depend on Gauthier, Frost and who we pick this year. Also Couts health. If we take a center this #7 its fine

@AlexDiNata99077 Tippett & York I'll give you had breakout years. Sadly I think they've reached their ceilings of 2nd liner and #3 D. Frost needs to give me more than half a year of production to call it a breakout & his lack of PP pts is concerning. TK shouldn't be here & Cutter is who knows?

@RValentine10 We arent in a good situation and last decade has been terrible But Tippett, Frost + York just had breakout years in their 1st full NHL yrs. Tippett with 27 goals, Frost w/ 48 pts despite only 5 PP pts and slow start and York already top 4 D TK over PPG, Gauthier a top prospect

@AlexDiNata99077 It's fine to be positive I guess, but I don't see these great breakout years. I look around & see so many teams with better young cores. They have a lot of work to do & I see no reason to believe they can do it based upon recent past. They lack talent at key spots (C/D) as well.

@AlexDiNata99077 Link the Athletic article please. I thought I saw one with them much lower from them. Most other places have them late teens/early 20's. Here's the issue: 4 of the players you list are RW. Teams built around wingers fail all the time. I'm also not buying Frost yet either.

Farabee, Tippett, Frost, Cates, York, Hart, Foerster are all 24 or younger TK just 26. Gauthier a top prospect and 19. Will get another top prospect next month
