This is what X-men fans want X-men to be now. I'm actually suprised it didn't do as well given its as basic a conflict as they see things. Also it IS better in terms of worldbuilding for the central conflict than X-men.

Heck one of my favs atm is Zom 100 which criticises Japan's intense workaholic culture and oppressive employeers but it makes it part of the story and doesn't just have the character talk like they're on X trying to get likes.

You know, when I read a manga, I can get a cool world full of inventive world building, creative fights, character growth ect.
Reading a western comic is often just like reading a leftist webcomic strawman that has the author's burns with "captialism is le bad" tweets.

Fun fact: After Melkor destroyed the Two Lamps and ruined much of Middle-earth for the first time, the Valar eventually got fed up and actually imprisoned him, something they could've done right away but didn't want to "make a fuss" at first and thus left him to corrupt and despoil the continent while they retreated to the heavenly realm.
Anyway, they got him and after a period of captivity, Nienna, the Vala of sorrow and crying, spoke on Melkor's behalf and argued for his pardon because "he said he was sorry" and "keeping him chained would be very mean and it makes me feel bad".
So in essence: the release of the Great Satan, untold misery for countless beings and repeated devastation of the world which resulted its breaking and fading of magic was made possible because a liberal female judge who liked to cry all the time felt bad that the Vala were mean to the Great Satan.

Resident Evil movie and Weapons director Zach Cregger was interviewed by The New York Times about his reboot. ▪️He's already beaten RE 9 twice. ▪️He is the biggest worshipper of the games, and his movie is not breaking the rules of the games. ▪️This film has a much bigger budget than Weapons, and Cregger was given carte blanche to reinvent RE with this film. ▪️Does not adapt to any specific story from the games, and contains no characters from any of the games.
