And yet, @GovTimWalz has not held one single government employee accountable. The only assumption you can make is he approved of the fraud, and encouraged his staff to look the other way. As @JoeSoucheray posited months ago, they looked the other was since the right kind of people were getting the money.

@StarTribune Another congrats for @GovTimWalz. When even the Red Star Tribune calls you out…

@SNienow @talkette Congrats @GovTimWalz, assuming your goal was to destroy Minnesota from the inside out.

Grade 4 Reading scores:
Mississippi 219
Minnesota 214
Somehow, MS figured out how to improve.
MN kept declining.

Robert@Robert__33
@SNienow And Mississippi too, I believe?

@SNienow @GovTimWalz thinks NAEP scores are like golf, the lower the score the better.
English

NAEP 8th Grade Reading Proficiency for MN is now where Oklahoma was ten years ago in 2015.
OK has always been one of the WORST states for education results.
This is just maddening.
If you are from Minnesota and you are NOT aghast, you absolutely should be...

Sean Nienow@SNienow
MN used to sneer - "Other states' performance is terrible!" 10 years NAEP data: Current MN vs all past results. MN is now below other state past results. "MN’s recent declines have placed its 2024 proficiency below the historical performance of most other states in the period"
English

@KSTP Yet @GovTimWalz has yet to hold anyone accountable by terminating their employment and maybe referring them to the Attorney General for prosecution. Tim says the buck stops with him, so maybe he should resign in disgrace.
English

@ericswalwell Eric, you have oddly quiet lately. I thought you would be defending yourself from the false accusations?

**Some notable Obama-era examples:**
- ABC correspondent Claire Shipman was married to White House Press Secretary Jay Carney.
- ABC executive producer Ian Cameron was married to National Security Adviser Susan Rice.
- ABC/Univision reporter Matthew Jaffe married to Obama's deputy press secretary Katie Hogan.
- ABC president Ben Sherwood's sister was a special adviser to Obama.
Biden examples are thinner on direct media-spouse ties; more common were staff family hires inside the administration.
No record of Acosta raising alarms about these during Obama/Biden years—he was part of the ecosystem. Scrutiny often depends on who's in power.

This is excellent creative thinking on how to overturn the redistricting decision: Lower the retirement age of justices on the VA Supreme Court and whoosh, they all have to go. Appoint new judges, rehear case, get a different ruling. the-downballot.com/p/how-virginia…

🧐 The Mall of America: From Icon of the American Dream to Case Study in Welfare Magnet Migration? A Data-Driven Reckoning.
In the early 1990s, Minnesota—home to generous refugee resettlement programs run by faith-based groups and a robust social safety net—opened its doors to Somali immigrants fleeing civil war. The intent was compassionate. The outcome, per rigorous analysis from the Center for Immigration Studies (using American Community Survey data through 2023), demands intellectual honesty: 81% of Somali-immigrant households in Minnesota consume at least one major welfare program (cash assistance, SNAP/food stamps, or Medicaid). Break it down: 54% on food stamps, 73% with at least one member on Medicaid, and 89% of households with children reliant on these programs. Native-born households? Just 21%. Even after a decade in the U.S., dependency rates barely budge.
This isn’t an isolated anecdote. Minnesota now hosts America’s largest Somali population (~80,000–100,000+). And the visual transformation is unmistakable at the once-world-famous Mall of America—the largest shopping center in the Western Hemisphere, engineered as a beacon of Midwestern prosperity. Crowds that once reflected a broad cross-section of America now present as a near-monoculture on many days, funded in no small part by the very taxpayers who built it. Locals call it the doesn’t for a reason. It doesn’t “look like America anymore”—because the incentives of chain migration + unlimited welfare have produced parallel societies, not integration. integration.
Layer on the scandals: Multiple billion-dollar fraud rings in Minnesota’s social services (meals programs, housing, therapy) disproportionately involved Somali networks—prosecutors charged hundreds, with remittances allegedly flowing overseas.
This isn’t “racism”; it’s fiscal reality and failed policy. Economists note some entrepreneurship (e.g., small malls like Karmel), but aggregate data show a net drain: high poverty persistence, low assimilation rates, and taxpayer subsidies for a demographic that hasn’t achieved self-sufficiency at scale.
Takeaway: Migration policy isn’t charity theater—it’s a long-term social contract. Unskilled refugee inflows + welfare access = predictable dependency traps (see Borjas, CIS reports). America thrived on selective, high-skill immigration that built wealth, not consumed it. Reforming this—merit-based entry, time-limited benefits for non-citizens, rigorous assimilation metrics—isn’t cruelty; it’s arithmetic and national survival.
What say you, X? Is this sustainable "diversity," or a cautionary tale for every state tempted by open-ended compassion without conditions?

A bill in the Minnesota Legislature would fold the North Loop neighborhood into a downtown Minneapolis tax district, adding a 3% surcharge on food and drinks. kstp.com/kstp-news/top-…

@mitchpberg @MidwesternPRA Real math. 700,000 passengers per year? Let’s be generous and allow for 365 days of service, 1,918 passengers daily, 4 trips daily assume even distribution, 479 passengers each way daily, for 365 days.
Pure fantasy.
English

@grok, does Minnesota have any recent history with exaggerated ridership for a train line, which turned into a financial boondoggle, and eventually got shutdown?
Midwest Passenger Rail Association@MidwesternPRA
At 4 round trips daily, the proposed Northern Lights Express between Duluth and Minneapolis would carry over 700,000 passengers annually, while also allowing people to get to & from Duluth without driving while being faster. Seems like a no brainer to me.
English

No, this isn't verified true.
It's a widespread ad for generic "Tiworld"/"Ringminds"/similar branded devices sold on obscure sites. They claim FDA approval, Mayo Clinic endorsement, and hospital collaborations—but no credible medical sources or FDA listings confirm any such launched non-invasive meter.
Real non-invasive glucose tech (breath, optical) remains in prototype/research stages as of 2026, not ready consumer products. Use approved CGMs instead.

OUTSTANDING news! Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan has RESIGNED!
It comes after she was found found guilty in federal court for shielding illegal aliens from ICE agents in her own courthouse.
Now that she's been convicted of this felony, she could be sentenced to YEARS behind bars.
Time to oust ALL of these liberal judges!
REPOST if you agree!

@richardcarlbom @BradFinstad @grok, Did Richard complain about gas prices when thy peaked at $5/gallon during the Biden administration?
English

Votes are choices and @BradFinstad has chosen to do this to southern MN. From tariffs to war with Iran, all are votes taken by Brad against us. If you supported Brad in the past, it’s time to take a second look so we can lower gas prices.
