On 23rd March 2026, Japan launches the world's first freight-only Shinkansen, converting a former passenger bullet train into a high-speed cargo carrier by removing all seats to maximize storage space. A total game changer for freight transport.

Any common good development is in a stand still also, unless Governments start pitching in, things will not move forward, it feels as all the development done so far has been a waste. I look at Salana and others and see their investors... they bought bad fruit, they can get rid of.

Never thought my courses in critical thinking and writing for PHIL would be so integral to my career in software. We’ve entered an age where killer apps can be created by anyone able to articulate a problem space and describe a solution to it using plain English 🤯

Welcome to deep tech development my friend. Developing cycles for it are way longer than launching a business online. I have been here long enough to know this. What I have seen is a contraction of OG crowd exiting the space completely for positive economic reasons, all ecos are facing the same problem. The crazy valuation given to shit 💩 made everyone gamble, some paid off but most got burned. Now people is paying more attention to the tech side of things and in that front the platform has learned lots of lessons, so using the platform for products is easy, and for what I have been observing the on-ramps are being setup for agentic usage in mind too, the traffic volumes will be high when that happens. Even dealing with. Developers like brave, not delivering what has been paid for is an absolute shock, the foundation should ask for those funds back through the courts. Imo all crypto markets are being manipulated so even today valuations and other stuff you can not rely on, this is where the DYOR comes to play. When you ask about what products do we have running on the network, well all those are also deep tech and very niche, things are moving forward and we all need to be in synch With our eyes wide open. I’m building a solution that I want to have for my own needs, no funding, I’m doing it because there is a market for it and will be used, I’m not expecting money from such solution unless it gets a hold organically to its users, I’ll do word or mouth marketing!

Serious question (not really): what’s the actual biggest success Polkadot has delivered so far? Not the vision. Not the vibes. Something real that worked. And why?

So @darhtch & mine proposal for Kusama Art also got rejected. For a Core NFT collection on Kusama with possible migrations both ways to Polkadot. Added as a social character to Proof of Personhood Apps & evolving via smart contracts based on Eco/Apps usability. Well this „final decision” & „no feedback” is really helpful. 🙃

In 2014, @gavofyork described hosting static content as one of the 4 pillars of his Web3 vision. I proposed develop a mechanism to host website content on Kusama and permanently deploy a library of cypherpunk texts on-chain as POC. Got rejected from the KSM Art & Social Experiments Bounty. Sad. I would have thought this is gonna be a fun side project that speaks to the cypherpunk ethos of Kusama.

Who does not embrace AI, will be left behind, seems the antiAI sentiment is coming from the people who will lose their jobs to the tech, instead of trying crazy shit, they are closing the door to fast iterative ideas on their ecosystem, where will this people go… probably were they are welcome.

wrong take from a web3 unthinker: AI didn’t shift the narrative, it nuked it. now web3 devs hating on AI while building wrappers so agents can use their chain, from “code is law” to “pls call my contract” real quick

The midterm picture for crypto is worse than most people realize — and it's not about floor votes. Here's the structural problem: - Democrats are projected to flip the House (~85% chance) and potentially the Senate - The majority party chairs EVERY committee. No exceptions - Crypto bills don't go straight to the floor. They live or die in committee. Chairs control what gets hearings, markup, and what quietly dies - If Democrats flip the House, Maxine Waters chairs House Financial Services. She called the GENIUS Act "a full-scale crypto con" - If they flip the Senate, Elizabeth Warren chairs Senate Banking. She's voted against every major crypto bill - It gets worse in the House: when party control flips, subcommittees fully reset. Waters would steer who leads the Digital Assets subcommittee and control freshman assignments The frustrating part: pro-crypto Democrats exist. ~47% voted for the GENIUS Act. 37% voted for CLARITY. But that support is bill-specific and evaporates at the committee level, which is where legislation actually begins. David Christopher mapped this out in detail, including which specific races actually matter for committee composition. The pro-crypto Democrats exist. They're just not where the gavels are.

I am working with the regulation daily while implementing AI into government information systems (there is no area more regulated) and regulation really isn't the biggest problem. It's the easiest scapegoat and excuse. Much tougher is to actually describe what you want the AI to do, what data it should use and mapping it onto the current infrastructure. Interoperability and lack of detailed description of processes is the real problem.

Great summary, thanks @Chaos_i5. There have already been more updates to Chain Console since the announcement, applying community PRs (12098, 12102, 12124, 12129, 12185) from the Polkadot JS Apps repository. All live, besides regular endpoint checks twice a day. The repository also received its first feature request from the community, for a more convenient display of asset balances on Asset Hubs: github.com/helikon-labs/c…. Onwards.

Exactly what my team of 3 were planning to do for web2 startups in specific verticals. Not the tech angle but the market angle. Our proposal got no votes, that is how much the community can distinguish between a grifter and a visionary pushing things forward the proper way. The incubator, those professionals from that proposal have moved on to help people who needs their services on web2… not web3.
