@rut85826 I’ve been to Greece many years ago and have recently been reading a pile of books based in Greece. I would VERY much like to have a holiday in Greece for a month or two or six. 💕

@RachelBoss10 It is, my brother in law was taking 5 hour flights for business meetings, same we’d take to go to Greece etc on holiday.

Feel drained today, visitors due and I haven’t even got the hoover out yet ☹️Have decided it’s a buffet dinner ( ie stuff from M&S heated up) which will probably be nicer than my cooking anyway. Have a nice day people. #cantbenothered

@rut85826 Wow, you’d hope it was a pretty important meeting to have to travel 5hours to get there rather than logging into zoom with a business shirt on over your tracksuit pants. 🤣 I have friends who sell scientific equipment that have to travel all the time. 😢

@rut85826 My dad was born in Perth (1931) and moved to Adelaide when he was little, he passed away in 2024 nearly 93. I’ve never been to Perth but it’s top of my bucket list. I live in Adelaide which is bit like Perth from what I’ve heard. It’s a bit bonkers just how big Australia is.

@RachelBoss10 Western Australia, sister stayed near Mandurah outside Perth. We went to Fremantle and Margaret River for weekends. Very nice but she’s moved back last month so probably won’t go back for a while. Her adult children still live there.

@rut85826 I’ve not had a dinner out at a restaurant for quite a while (we kind of got out of the habit when Covid hit). I wouldn’t have a clue what things cost these days but I tend to assume everything costs a bucket load more since I last ate out ! 🤣

@RachelBoss10 Eating out seemed cheaper in Australia but everything else was expensive. Higher wages though as you say.

@RachelBoss10 Thanks! I must admit I loved the food when I visited Australia last year but my sister ( who’s just moved back) prefers Scottish stuff. Australia definitely more expensive for groceries.

@mitzyelliott Excellent service! I had to buy a new suitcase when we were in Verona at the end of a three week Italy trip to Venice/Verona. Not due to suitcase damage, due to bank account damage. Too many souvenirs! 🤭

@stsweeney3 I’ve had them since I was 19 (same as my mum so I assume it’s a genetic trait- thanks mum for that and the diabetes 😭). It’s funny how they sneak in, you’ve never seen one then suddenly you have a fully formed grey. Wait until you find one……elsewhere! 🤭

@de32344 Manfred (isn’t that the best German name!) lived in Wiesbaden and we stayed in Mainz too I think. We then drove to Trento in northern Italy and lived there for three months. Great memories.

@RachelBoss10 Oh … that was so nice of him 🙂 My parents learnt German and spoke and wrote fluently. They got it into their heads that they wanted to speak German😂 I spent a lot of time in Marburg. A University town with wonderful old bookshops. I loved going to Marburg.

Here's another Port Lincoln parrot - making an unorthodox landing 😄 This was in Phil's backyard at Cleve. He has put up a bird feeder and they come in every day. While he's in hospital, a local friend is feeding them for him. I enjoy seeing them when I visit Cleve.

@de32344 Totally agree. I learned German at school for a few years so always had an affinity for the country. A lovely chap used to work with hubby who would bring in sourdough & other food to share. We caught up with him yrs later in Germany and he put us up at his mum’s apartment!

@RachelBoss10 Germans have a great sense of humour. I spent a lot of time in Germany for work and they were the nicest and most generous of hosts.

@de32344 My first memory of test cricket was watching the Windies around 1980ish. I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for them.
